EU goes all-electric. Let the power outages begin!

So they have less than seven years to significantly augment their electric grid or face rolling blackouts. (Not hard to see what's going to happen here.) Not to mention that farming in the EU is effectively hosed as well, as electric vehicles for farming are a complete joke.

EU has literally signed a death warrant for a large portion of their people. If they survive another seven years to begin enforcing this, it will end the EU.

Why all the hate? There is a real market for EVs. Tesla and now the rest of the industry is answering the demand. Any competition breeds innovation. The fact that cars affect on climate change is a farce really has nothing to do with it. Let the market have it's way.

Personally I believe that electric vehicles will ultimately be a complete failure.

The only alternate technology that I believe has any hope is H2 ICE.

"The great minds of this country have not failed us yet when demand is there."

One doesn't legislate or run a business based on the hypothetical. (Or I guess you do: it's called a Ponzi scheme.) Unless there is a product on the market, there is no real alternative to evaluate.

We don't need electric cars to stop buying oil from the Middle East. The US has the capability to produce more oil than the entire Middle East and way more natural gas but we are hamstrung by our politicians - especially the Democrats.

As to the technology, one has to argue that it is better than the existing and sustainable. EV's fail on both accounts. They aren't cheaper to buy, operate or maintain (try spending >$20K to replace a battery after five years). Their demand for rare-earth minerals such as cobalt can't be sustained for a population of EV's the size of the fleet of ICE vehicles. And the power demands on the electric grid are being strained with just the EV's in service now. That's not to mention that without the generous subsidies to EV manufacturers, EV's wouldn't be selling except as novelties.

I am. But be patient. With demand growing this fast I am confident that the markets will respond with newer and better technology for supply. The great minds of this country have not failed us yet when demand is there.

I am not saying you are wrong about the politics of the deal. I just do not think it is important.
Right now the Middle East is producing 27% of the world's oil and Russia is suppling 11%. That is all I need to know. I have RAV4 hybrid and it is an awesome car. 33 miles to the gallon for a full size SUV. I will never buy all gas again.

They signed that agreement with the knowledge that it will decimate the population faster than passing viral packages back and forth. This insane group of overlords will use any and every possible means to decrease the "surplus" as quickly as possible, and flattening Europe will eventually make us an easier target. With Canada to our north and Mexico to the south adding their Socialist pressures to the mix, this worldwide squeeze play will topple the will of any who don't understand what depths of depravity we fight against. Keep your powder dry and stay gray.

Are you aware of where the materials come from for the batteries that these electric cars run on?

When Trump was pres none of our money went to the Middle East. We were an energy exporter - self sufficient. The left pulled this stunt as another tool for the green agenda. Make gas prices high to cause the sheeple to buy electric. And when this happens guess who has the grid control lever in case the sheeple rise up to the tyranny?

I am in favor of this legislation. I am not a climate change believer. But I believe that the entire world should be focused on no longer flooding the Middle East with our money. I was at the Chicago auto show this week. The technology for the cars is getting there fast. Having a grid that supports it I have no idea. But for me, every hybrid or electric car that is purchased is a little less money going to the Middle East

They say you can't fix stupid.
But you'd think enough power blackouts might.
New angle! You'd think stunting food crops would do as much also.

YouTube is where I saw it. I've been watching some videos on gardening and planting techniques and a Stossel video came up in the mix of current offerings so I watched it. I mostly like what he has to say.

He's a mixed bag to me. On the economic side of things he's generally got some good input.

As a side note to all this, yesterday I watched a video where John Stossel explains the planet is actually at an historic low for CO2 in the atmosphere and the slight rise we are seeing will actually "green" the planet with improved plant life and food crops, including a shrinking of desert areas like the Sahara, which has happened in the past.

Fools. neither the tech or the battery capability just is there yet. With their jabbed weakened immune systems, folks are going to die over this.
