Flag at half staff

Today on the Fourth of July the governor of the state of Connecticut, Ned Lamont ordered all flags at half staff to honor the former governor Lowell Weicker who recently died. I’m disgusted by this and have written him an email to tell him. Thoughts Gulch?

    Ironically, half-staff on Independence Day could also be seen as mourning for the republic-that-was.
