Mohammad designed Islam to be a weapon system that would unit the wandering tribes of Arabia into an army of conquest. He succeeded.

One cannot negotiate with someone who wants to kill you. There can be only one answer to this question and that is the annihilation of one side or the other, and until we, as a whole or at least large enough percentage to effect a change in our responses realize this, we cannot prevail.

Islam has been at war with Christianity since prior to the 636 AD battle of Yarmuk. For at least 1387 years, the Muslims have considered Christians and Jews the particular hated enemies of Islam. Raping, killing, beheading, burning, and terror of all forms are just normal for them. And remember, it is the DUTY of Muslims to lie, cheat, and engage in deception against Christians and Jews.

+1 to that, but one correction I'd like to add: "Its been like that since the end of the Islamic Golden Age in the 12th Century." Actually it's been like "that" from the very beginning when Mohammad and his blood thirsty followers slaughtered and enslaved their way throughout the Middle East and across North Africa. The article doesn't mention this, but a common argument of modern Muslims is the wars between Christendom and Islam started with the crusades, but they never want to discuss the Islamic slaughtering and conquest of Christians for almost 400 years before the first crusade stepped off. Wars between Islam and India were not initiated by the Indians.
