I still like calling the American left (mainly embodied by todays Democrat party) “Neo Communists” and for now will continue, but you are correct in pointing out the problem of the American left is really a mixed bag of socialist/communists and socialist/fascists which includes crony capitalists. Even if the American left, especially the Democrat party, doesn’t self identify as communists, calling them that is more honest than not. Calling them Neo Fascists may be just as accurate for now, but they would never understand why. I say “for now” because they are perfectly willing to play the crony capitalist game until full control is achieved and then confiscate everything (in the name of the people, of course) and go full communist. Stalin sent millions of “useful idiots” to the gulags and I’m sure the same will happen here - wave bye-bye to trainloads of crony capitalists and many others who supported the Neo Communist takeover.

IMHO, fascism belongs on the left with communism as they are so similar. Fascism was brought to us by Mussolini, who began as a Marxist, who realized communism under Lenin/Stalin wasn’t going to work so created fascism, which is modified communism. Where the communist state owns virtually everything and distributes as it pleases, the fascist state allows a wider amount of personal ownership, but controls everything through taxation and regulation (individuals that don’t meet the taxes or criteria required by the fascist state find out they really don’t own much). Neither model actually works and they both require increasing amounts of state coercion over the people to continue existing.

In basic theory, yes, a communist is someone who believes or follows Marxist theories of communism. In reality, I find them more like what communism actually is in practice as described in books like "The Gulag Archipelago", the writings of Ayn Rand, and many others. Communism in reality is despotic and authoritarian with no respect for individual liberties and always will be because its nature always has and always will degrade to such. The new American communists or Neo Communists as I like to call them seem to be fully infused into the Democrat party (and elsewhere) and are within a hairs breadth of bringing about their dream of single party authoritarian rule. They don't care what front or smoke screen they put up as long as they reach their goal of total control. The Stars and Stripes flying over the White House means nothing to them as long as the hammer and sickle rules within.

The person-to-person auction market is crying out for a competitor. eBay would likely set their lawyers on anyone trying to compete, claiming any competitor has copied the site. They wouldn't win a suit but the legal costs could ruin the competitor.
