I actually do think it is part of a master plan, Trump's even smarter than we think. The whole project is based on exposing the greed and graft in our government. No one would even care if he just told us. Over half the population is now convinced, and it is growing. My biggest concern now is the election. Can they again get away with stealing it again right under our noses, or are we going to fully react and not let them get away with it this time?

You can add that the judge was selected, not randomly as is the normal practice, for all the other anti-Trump cases.

For the moment I'll assume that the charges were factually correct (the charged action did take place).

HOWEVER:

The government doesn't have the right to grovel through privately-held business records to find this sort of thing without probable cause that some crime had been committed. The rules for publicly traded companies are somewhat different, due to required disclosures and reporting.

"Falsifying business records" is normally an add-on charge to something more serious (like embezzlement, defrauding vendors, or mis-stating income for tax purposes). That gives the government the hook to look through the business records.

In this case, "Falsifying business records" was the ONLY charge.

1. How many trials have been held in New York that included a charge of falsifying business records?

2. How many trials have been held in New York where 'falsifying business records' was the only charge?

If the answer to question 1 is 'many' and the answer the question 2 is '1', there is likely a basis for a charge of election interference against the New York DA who filed the charges.

I believed they would find him guilty of SOMETHING, but EVERYTHING? The Soviet prosecutors and the Soviet judge picked a Soviet jury to sit in a Soviet court in a Soviet venue to do exactly what they did.

I would expect the spineless GOP to react like seagulls at the beach when a dog runs by: Lots of squawking and flapping and then settle down like nothing happened. There is no equivalent on the GOP side to an Antifa or BLM so I figure the cities are safe from burning and looting.

While I agree that the jury is supposed to the stop-gap against this type of crap, this stop-gap has been effectively removed by the peremptory removal of prospective jurors.

As an example, when I was once part of a jury pool of 14 people to select 6 jurors from a pool of 7 engineers, 1 nurse, and 6 non-degreed people for a medical malpractice case, the 6 people selected were the 6 non-degreed people. As an inventor of medical technologies, I realized that I could never get a fair trial.
