NFL could pull Super Bowl if Arizona religious rights bill passes

I really wish the NFL would stay out of discussions like this. Pro sports has a long history of discrimination and I don't care what their opinion is.

    I agree that they can say whatever they want as an organization- they also have to face the consequences of their public statements. That is reality

    Organization, corporation... whatever. Their exact legal classification is beside the point.Though as this article pointed out, the Arizona Super Bowl Host committee already released a statement saying they disagreed with the bill. Granted, the Arizona Super Bowl Host committee is not the NFL, but I sincerely doubt the NFL would take an opposite stance.

    But for the sake of argument, lets suppose they did take an opposite stance. What would my reaction be? I'd simply voice my disagreement, though I would not try to say the NFL shouldn't voice its opinion.

    The NFL is a sports organization Maph. Curious what you would say if they came out in support of this law?

    So you grant freedom of speech to the individual people who work for the NFL, but deny freedom of speech to the NFL as a corporation. Okay. I see how it is.

    I am not denying their freedom of speech. If any one at the NFL wishes to make a statement on their own that is fine but this is not an organization that has any expertise on this. They are taking a polical stance publicly I think because of the current problems they are facing about gay players.

    Why? Do you want to deny them freedom of speech? If a corporation or a company wants to make an official statement regarding their opinion about certain legislation, I see no reason to forbid them from doing so. Besides, nowhere in their statement do they say anything about whether or not the bill's passage will have any impact on their decision of where to host the next Super Bowl.

    Well the only reason the NFL even made a statement at all is because they were specifically asked for one by news organizations. The NFL didn't decide to just arbitrarily come out and make a statement for no reason.
