Media and government keep calling the IPCC document a report. It is not. It was a political document written by the non=-scientist before the IPCC study was finished and caused many of the findings altered to match.

This nonsense makes me nauseous. That'll cause me to eat less, so I guess they're getting what they want.

UN has never been more meaningful, you are UNable to take them seriously. If we were to disband the UN it would eliminate a lot of hot air from all the bull-sh1t they release and save a lot of money! Global warming is similar to when the value of pi was changed in Indiana. No logic or factual support...

i would like to be a fly on the wall when these idiots get together to write the reports. they probably put their hands in the air grabbing for the "facts" to put in the reports. when we are a third world planet they will be happy.

I can't take anything the UN says seriously. They are about the only international body more corrupt than the current Administration.

Besides, I don't see them stinting much on their own conspicuous consumption.

Here's my message to the United Communists: screw off. You lead the way and refuse to eat, kill yourselves off for the benefit of 'the masses' & leave me the hell alone.

Who said anything about becoming vegetarian? Eating less meat != abandoning meat entirely.

I think everyone at the UN should practice safe sex, and go f*$& themselves!!
I've said it before about the anti-human enviro-zombies that are always asking for everybody to do, or not to do, something for the planet; lead by example and go off yourselves. I would recommend a rope, as it would be reusable and sustainable. Pffft.

The idea is to eat less meat b/c animals have to consume so many calories of farmed plants to give us one calorie of meat. This does not apply to meat from animals that don't eat farmed food.

Rather than consuming less of it, though, I think we should be looking for ways to make more of it but with less cruelty and environmental impact.

And it isn't proven to be less healthy.
Eating less fast food is probably closer to proven.
I'm with you on free choice. That means lots of experimentation and competitive results, and ultimately better information for those who become informed.

While eating less meat is without a doubt a healthier way to live, trying to impose it via government legislation is a very, very bad idea. There's no way a small group of intellectual elites sitting in an ivory tower could ever calculate the nutritional needs of the entire population. There are simply too many factors that come into play. The only way to ensure that everyone gets exactly what they need is to just let them have the freedom to go out and get it for themselves. Does that mean some people will make bad decisions? Yes it does. But it also means we will avoid the inevitable catastrophe of government denying people the ability to make the decisions which are right for them on an individual level.

"If people let the government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls who live under tyranny."
