Yes, the volume of information and data from an individual is much larger today that 20 years ago. Back then you were limited to hard data such as letters or even a film or video. Now you have unlimited access such as these boards. That opens the door to both volume and manipulation, so the truth can be submerged much more easily. So the "quality" and factual nature of information is so much more susceptible.

We may be there in terms of microphones metaphorically hidden under every rock and behind the picture frames of every quaint hotel. But I don't think we're there in terms of not being able to get information.

It is evident there is serious issue, this is going beyond your everyday political corruption to clear criminal activity. Until we can get the government to actually govern, their mandate to govern may actually disappear, and that will lead to a much worse situation.
