Analysts deem Venezuela's situation unsustainable

Something to think about, where we could end up going, but for a few details. A country that promises everything almost invariably will fail, and fail to deliver, and encounter these results. You cannot win by giving away what you do not have. Looters: Take note.

and not a dime will go to pay down the debt. Why when they can do Great Recession II and rip off another generation or two of retirees and elderly. The sick part is those people being ripped off the most will vote for their own demise.

As it stands we are in zero need of foriegn oil. The SW Texas strikes put us in such good shape we started exporting oil again the first time in some decades as far as mainland oil is concerned. Let us see how that wealth is squandered for the next four to eight years for squander it the government will surely do.

Exactly. There is no way oil will save them. Period. Any other discussion is bable, because they do not have any excess preduction. In fact all production is to deman, and short of that, as there is no incentive to produce in such a system. Reason why Bernie and Hillary are all full of crap, their redistribution just kills all incentive ot produce and sell and reinvest. Try telling that to most people who will ask you to start over, the go glassy eyed on you...

Not only that there is no wealth. Wealth is that income in excess of current need and leads to either capitalism or taxes. Current need is where the term money comes into play. For those not on a straight barter system or with enough wealth to invest for the future - weddings, births, college funds, retirements..

Excess money or wealth minus taxes equals reality in a the socialist system of confiscation of labor.

Interesting points. If each member of a group produces "x" and consumes "x", there's no social"ism". There has to be either some members producing "x minus y" and others producing "x plus y" but all consuming "x". OR all members producing "x minus y" but everyone consuming at least "X" ( the y component coming from something like oil)

Otherwise, what's the point of socialism? Wig you consume or save what you produce- it's capitalism

Which illustrates the fatal flaw. Any economy built on one factor cannot afford to be socialist, for that reason, cyclical effects and movements. Saudi Arabia has the same issue, but is less socialist, they are more dictatorial and give you money and goodies, then kill you types.

Do not forget Comrade Stalin, he was about as evil as Hitler ever hoped to be. He also killed a lot more people, yet no one ever wanted to put him on trial.

True enough. Sanders is happy so long as he has a supply of free money he can distribute. I never heard him talk about people working. It was always about cutting high wages and giving it to low wage earners. Venezuela is going to crash shortly unless oil prices get back to $100/barrel

Don't know if anyone knows the distribution among them, but there are basically two types of socialists - the idiots that swallow whatever the Party tells them because they have been programmed that way (and the programming is easy - just feed them handouts until the Pavlov response sets in) and the truly evil ones that understand very well what evil they're creating and the stealing and looting that they do; they just don't care, as long as they're at the top of the food chain. Historically, those have been the high level communists, the commissars, the Nazis, the Alinsky's, the Hillary's and the Obama's. There is only one way to cleanse the world from that filth.

Even then, they have just a temporary respite. The system is just unsustainable, and people who practice it are almost consistently power hungry manipulators. Bernie seems to be the exception, but even he will fall to the temptation to make up for his own inadequacies by "making everyone happy". Go look at the 30's, there NEVER was a "chicken in every pot". Unless you stole it.

There is good and evil. The statists are pure conveyors of evil and they have pinheads as their minions.

I agree. We should study Venezuela carefully so we can see the lengths statists go to in order to stay in power. Madura knows socialism only lasts until the other guys money runs out (in their case the oil revenue). He is just hoping upon hope that the oil spruce will spike before the country collapses

Completely self inflicted, and any time someone said it was going to go bad, they get branded as "reactionary conservatives", or "right wing haters" or some other BS nonsense. If this situation does not convince the majority that the socialist road leads to slavery and servitude and hell on earth, then we need to big starship now.

Please do not give them ideas. Next thing will be a "bailout plan" approved by the idiots.

The statists know ,Absolutely stealing and looting to stock shelters and ensure their safety from chaos they created. I wouldn't spend ten seconds in the underground shelters with those fascists. My wish is for those lying bastards to try to live together while they stab each other in the back.

I think they already have. Congress has already provided for its and other 'essential' government officials' safety in well-stocked shelters for when this balloon goes up. It pays to be one of the good-old-boys you know ;-)

On the other hand, this is exactly the Agenda 21 globalist definition of "sustainability".

I would guess maybe 20% of US people know about this, and they are mostly conservatives and libertarians. Because the socialist crowd could not possibly sustain their beliefs if they knew the real results of their ideas in places like Venezuela, Cuba, and North Korea.

    A Scenario:
Man dressed as a bum screams:"Socialism Works!!"
Another man well dressed in suit & tie speaks softly: "Until the money runs out."
Margaret Thatcher, former Lady PM of England was, in that short sentence, wiser than almost everyone in the benighted country of Venezuela. I don't know how many more examples of the failure of socialism that Socialists need to convince them that IT DOESN'T WORK! Good grief, do those people have mush for brains, or are they so lazy that the lure of free stuff over-rides all common sense? Lenin was right when he proposed communism to the masses and they went for it because when it comes to economics, apparently, most people are idiots.
