That's exactly it. Their interpretation is nowhere near what the founders intended. They twist the written words to mean what they want them to mean, then they can feel good about being patriots. Have you noticed that lately the left is staking a claim on Patriotism? They're waving American flags and reciting founding documents in an effort to brainwash gullible citizens. They're trying to 'own' those things before the 'useful idiots' realize that all those things are fundamentally conservative.

They assign their own meanings to the words. Sometimes, if you want to be amazed, ask a hardcore liberal what freedom means to him. I used to deal with rock performers. With a few exceptions, (Gene Simmons) they didn't have a clue.

They often have no idea of what freedom is. They think that the ability to acquire stuff is freedom. They think that most people need to be regulated, like themselves. They think that money makes you immune from laws but must be applied to everyone else except their lefty politicians. Once you talk with them and translate the garbled sentences, you see that lurking behind the façade of sophistication is a little .child...

Yes, but those words do, knowingly and unknowingly elicit an emotional response...you'd think it would of sunk in.
Like all liberals and progressives...they take issue with the meanings of those words.

Many actors cannot think on their own without a script. Look at any interview or appearance by Robert DeNiro. An amazing actor with a zero personality. Many of them are hand puppets but you can't see the hand up their butts.

This divide is 180 degrees apart...there is no resolution...they speak in feelings, maybe that's where we start.
We see the causes and effects of reality...they see only emotion and wishes...they are the unaware mystical ones with nothing but feel good to guide them.

They read the Deceleration as part of the attack upon George Bush by the Democrat party over Iraq, etc. It had nothing to do with any effort to understand the founding.

I watched the video (well, some it), it put me in tears, listening to them read it and then not even being able to comprehend one word of what was coming out of their own mouths. I guess that's what makes them good actors, having no understanding of what they say or do. Even more depressing is that liberals that see this will only be strengthened in their liberalism, also not comprehending but enforcing their beliefs.

Once I reached the early part of Obama voters speaking about abolishing the bonds of an abusive government, I just had to turn that off.
Now they'll run along and vote for a socialist evil hag who wants to deny First Amendment free speech to manmade climate change deniers, to shut down the Second Amendment with appointed Supreme Court judges.

I agree. But you and I are on more or less the same 'side'. I have been engaged in an email 'debate' with someone on the other 'side' who would use EXACTLY those same words to describe what he feels I am doing. I am certain that I am fully seeing the 'facts', but he is equally certain !! How on earth can that be resolved !?
