If you pair this with the article by Dave Hodges, used in another post here, Region 3 is Fed Govt HQ, namely DC. Hm-m-m-m.

These are the FEMA regions - I know - in my last position (it was only a 7 to 5 job), doing Emergency Operations Coordination, I had to deal an awful lot with FEMA.

And it rings true - for Frank Herbert aficionados - IX really IS like a whole different planet! --giggles--

And if you think IX is bad... how would you like to be in II or III... When you hear them talk about "Region 3", it's usually *not* the entire geographical area they're talking about...

Region V is my favorite. I don't need to stay informed on the number though. I can always look it up.

My do remember the ham radio callsign regions though. I live in 9-land.
