But I'll be going through the northern edge of the state, and I'm betting she's down there on the other edge...

Spent all of yesterday preparing the motorhome for the trip. I had already winterized it...

When the recruiter first contacted me, I told her flat-out that I don't want to earn any wages in California: "California is bankrupt," I said, "and taxes are going to go through the roof." When she explained to me that it's only a three-month contract with a company whose name all of you know, I changed my mind.

California is going to get REALLY ugly when the collapse comes. I think I'll be out of there before that. One of the many advantages to having a house on wheels....

I'll spend the next week and a half getting there, taking photos along the way (I'm a semi-pro photographer) in the Desert Southwest. I'll check in from time to time while on the road, and should be back as a "regular" in a coupla weeks or so.
