I, too, got disgusted when I heard the "replace" talk.
But it seems the Republican party has turned mainly into a bunch of wimps. Too bad Goldwater died.

"I got a chill down my spine." Yeah, I felt it, too. Accompanied with the sinking feeling in the pit of the stomach.

Would be cool if it got to SCOTUS and flipped before it changes.

    Yes.

Don't know how Roberts will proceed on any other ACA case after his "tax" verdict.

But it is unsettling that last time Kavanaugh sided with him on a controversial issue.

I would not count on the Court's "conservative" majority given the behind the scene plots we know little about.

Remember...The supreme court ruled on this with the basis that it's a "tax". ARGH!!!....

Very astute. When Trump was saying we'd "replace" Obamacare (or something like that) I got chill down my spine. Few people really understand what we're talking about here...even if what we are talking about is basic history, ethics, liberty... The Neocons and RINOs are largely to blame here. I know several and they are blind to all this.

We didn't believe it. The media didn't believe it, but they pretended that they did by repeatedly printing the lies. But the gutless GOP in con-gress didn't fight it. The GOP didn't even overturn it when they controlled both houses and had an arguably friendly POTUS who promised to repeal it.
The reason is that the GOP wants bigger government and has always wanted bigger government. They just pretend to be opposing government. Lying looters. Both parties.

Right you are AJ. To paraphrase Ronald Reagan "Nothing has eternal life on this earth quite like a government program".

The Overton window has moved. The narrative is no longer whether or not government (socialized) health care should be implemented, it's now that we are stuck with it how do we make it work? Even Trump isn't talking repeal, he's talking how to fix it.

In this case, we're screwed - again - so "Meet the new boss..."

Nothing will come of the ruling, they are just poking at the ACA to find any holes they might have for enforcing it, they will then plug the holes and nothing will change. Notice that the judge didn't rule that the ACA is dead for now, just that it needs to be appealed. The time before it is appealed will be used to determine how to ensure that individual mandates are enforceable under their written law. The Supreme Court has already ruled that it is not healthcare that they are selling, it is a tax and that congress can lay taxes.

Where was this judge & his ruling back when the abomination (or is it Obama-nation) was instituted? Anyone remember how much money individuals were going to save? How about "If you like your Dr., you can keep your Dr."? More choices? Again, abomination!!

Please tell me where in the Constitution it says anything about the federal government having any authority to govern health care. We build border fences in numerous countries around this world but can't protect our own borders. I don't know of any private business this government ever took over that has become better or even more efficient. Want proof, just look at the major insurance companies profits since O Care took over.

Chief Justice baked himself into a corner with the last ruling... he is going to have to get really creative to save it this time. Oh the irony if Justice Kavanaugh led the court to overturn the precedence of the last ruling that the Commerce Clause did not empower the Federal government to coerce residents to buy healthcare insurance after the Democrats in the Senate browbeat him about following precedence.

For once, judge shopping worked on behalf of the constitution. And John Roberts said there are no Obama or Bush or Clinton or Trump judges ...

Has anybody anywhere, at any time, stopped to say "What business does government have doing anything in medicine?"
Plenty of those who just want to be left alone, who have no political pull (and never wanted any.)

Look at the current AFM tragedy. Kids are being paralyzed to the point of death and it's "Duh...we just don't know what could be causing it." Government run medicine...

Good luck with that, America. Americans are in terrible health. We are horrible in terms of infant death. We're the fattest. 1/4 of our women are on Prozac and related meds.

Fox and Newscorp are both Rupert Murdoch linked (I think).
But the Fox story is matter-of-fact while the Aus Newscorp report (actually from AP) is emo).
It is often fun to read the same news item from different sources.

I'd wager it matters very little if at all. Once the government seizes authority it never releases its hooks.
