In listening to Rush Limbaugh just before the 1:30 Eastern time break on 1/22, Limbaugh was discussing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (aka Ellsworth Toohey) and Mayor Bill DeBlasio of NYC. Limbaugh told Ms. Ocasio-Cortez that DeBlasio is not a capitalist, but rather a socialist/communist. DeBlasio is "no John Galt".

Indeed DeBlasio is not.

Bet she doesn't even know that 70% of the taxes are paid by the top ten percenters. Oh, well, she wouldn't understand that so why even try.

Rush likes to "illustrate absurdity by being absurd", and in this case, he certainly succeeded. He was painting Mayor DeBlasio and Rep. Ocasio-Cortez as the Marxists that they are. Ocasio-Cortez had just said that she thought it was entirely "fair" to have a top marginal tax rate of 70% and perhaps even 90%. DeBlasio had said that there was enough money out there and that it was "just in the wrong hands". That is the statement of a looter if I ever heard one.

Why would Rush use this analogy? Its extremely patently obvious to the point of being an absurd comment.
