Trump says U.S. likely to go ahead with tariffs on Mexico over immigration

So, lets look at why Trump may be doing this dastardly, horrible deed, which will destroy millions of lives. Simple: The deep state claws are so deep, they control so much, and the unrestricted influx of foriegners is one of their primary weapons in destroying national identity to facilitate a move to a world government. If you destroy a countries identity, and culture, you homoginize the social structure, then you sell the idea of why we need a world wide government to ensure everything is divided up "fairly". Thus the huge muslim invasion of Europe, the wars in the middle east to force them to run, the political upheaval in south america to force them to run. Do you see a pattern? How do you fight back when only 10% of the country may actually see the big picture of all the manipulation of the last 80 years? Force them to battle. The demorats already laid down the parameters, "No emergency, no problem at border, no wall", yet there is typhus and typhoid fever breaking out in LA and San Francisco (and never a word from them on that "crisis"). So, you threaten tariffs on a country that is owned by the deep state and facilitates their machinations by ignoring any "people issues" (after you got you socialist candidate elected, there), and hammer them in what will, if carried out, crash their economy, and those of the many companies in the U.S. that, funny, have the primary support of the deep state side (Unions). The auto unions will go nuts because they will be schizophrenic, Trump may force companies to come back to the US, good for their members, but also he may hammer them when companies lay off US workers because of dropping sales. This will play out in many industries and has 2 sides, makes it cheaper to grow food and make things here, because the tariffs kill off the cheap labor thing, and also will make the US safer because we no longer import huge food amounts from Mexico, where they can be contaminated (and sometimes are) by "nefarious means". How many Ecoli outbreaks were traced to stuff brought in? How easy would it be to lace it with something much worse? How do you detect it? The war goes on....

That is a weak answer. Many many manufacturers were forced to go to China China China because of regulations that were designed to send jobs out of our country. It is called the selling out of America. Maybe Feinstein and Biden and others will share the riches they have attained by playing on the Red Chinese team.

Hmm. Not my experience at all. Maybe we have selected better vendors, or our parts are easier to make.

My dad helps American companies source Chinese manufacturing. He not only translates the blueprints, but lives at the factories to oversee QC. And his stories tell just the opposite: QC is a nightmare in China. Most Chinese workers don't really care about quality - it is a cultural thing to them. They're already literally owned by the factories which provide tubes for them to sleep in and meals in a cafeteria in exchange for 12-14 hr days six days per week. Those products which do make it through QC account for typically 40% of the actual production run - the rest are defective.

Those aren't the kind of odds I want in anything I'm not going to throw away when I'm done.

In my expereience, the Chinese products are every bit as good american ones, BUT one has to specify exactly in every detail what you want made and tested.

Me dino is a retired career corrections officer. There are different kinds of murderers~the worse on death row and nutcases who need to be locked up tight.
All in all, I'd rather be around those murderers deemed safe enough to be included among the general population than sneaky sociopath thieves.

Well, you may want to think that over.

Think China and the products flowing in from there, as an example.

We are importing everything from pocket knives to billion dollar bridges.

The Bay Bridge in SF was built by Chinese contractors. The contract was awarded to them due to the lowest bid..

During construction, it turned out there were faults in the foundation, then misaligned structures caused rejection.

Work had to be stopped, the faulty parts rebuilt, retested and qualified again.

In the end the project cost more than if they contracted it out to a US builder, who quoted a higher price but safer operation.

Cheaper import products are just that: cheaper. But if something is cheaper, there is a reason for that.

Look closer and you find the reason.

Republicans, led by McConnell, are threatening a revolt if Trump imposes tariffs.

They have their share in the trappings and don't want to jeopardize it.

To hell with the country's interest.

Tariffs just make products more expensive by taxing them. If it was practical to make stuff here, it would have already been made here. This is a tax to cover the fact we have outdated immigration laws.

Thanks. I sat on three County Grand Juries. Our Sheriff had a sense of humor. He insisted we eat lunch once at each of the six prisons since we were, in a sense, sending folks over there. I was really enlighted by those lunches. Seeing the 'inside' makes you open your eyes. I will admit that was the best food I ever ate and I asked the some of the prisoners what they ate and their response was, 'the same thing you are eating ma'am'. I joined a young man on a piano bench (he played by ear) and was 18. I asked what he was in for and he said 'murder'!

It would seem to me the Republican House Reps could speak up a bit more for the President. If they want to side with the Dems, they should resign their position. This is getting beyond ridiculous. It's very simple, actually. Go back to our earlier immigration policies when people were put in quarantine. We could send them over to Rikers We have six state prisons in my county! We could release our criminals who aren't as dangerous as what is coming across the Border! We put American vehicular homicides (accidents) in prison for 99 years in Texas (really dangerous criminals)!

Trump is pretty much the only one with the guts to meet a problem head-on while (the truly obstructionist) democrat socialist wannabe commies cry, whine and scream for an unattainable impeachment and gutless RINOs quake in terror.

I support tariffs as a tool for international diplomacy. Mexico depends very heavily on the US economy so this is a HUGE stick to be waving around - and they know it. Since they have refused for more than twenty years to do anything but encourage illegal immigration into the US, its high time we punish them for it.

Now what I'd really like to see is Congress - which has exclusive control over the immigration and naturalization laws as per Article I of the Constitution - change the laws and close many of the loopholes people are using. Here's my proposal:

If you want to enter the US, there are three ways you can do so. First is a tourist visa. That means that you can come in, stay for up to 90 days, and then you go home. Anyone found violating a tourist visa is fined $2000 and deported back to their home nation - with no possibility of further entry into the United States. Anyone found in the United States after being deported for tourist visa violation is tried as a criminal combatant by a military tribunal with a minimum sentence of five years in a military prison followed by deportation. A second conviction carries with it an automatic capital sentence to be carried out by military personnel.

Second, is a green card or work permit. Your employer must apply for one of these on your behalf and your employer's company takes full responsibility for your behavior while in the United States. If you commit a crime, not only will you be prosecuted for it but so will your employer. Green cards/work permits are good for one year but may be renewed repeatedly. A green card application costs the employer $1000 and must include fingerprints, full facial photo, and a negative drug screen.

Third is to apply for citizenship. You must apply at a US consulate in your native country. You may NOT apply for citizenship at the US border. An application costs $10,000 which - less a small processing fee - is held in bond against your activities in the US. All applications for citizenship are automatically declined if not sponsored by a US citizen. US citizens applying to be sponsors may only sponsor one individual at a time and take on full legal liability for the individual they are sponsoring for five years. After the application has been approved and a sponsor approved, the applicant is permitted to move to and live in the United States where they are on probation for that five years. During their probationary period, the applicant must take and pass civics and history courses designed to inculcuate the individual into the culture and history of America. Applicants must pay for these classes. Applicants are also prohibited from voting or receiving any kind of government welfare benefits, though they may receive funds from private individuals and charities. At the end of the five year probationary period, applicants must appear before an immigration judge and demonstrate exemplary conduct including continuous employment for not less than 48 out of 60 months, no history of altercations with law enforcement, zero felony convictions, fewer than three misdemeanor convictions (including traffic citations), and must then swear allegiance to the United States, renouncing any and all other foreign allegiances.

It took days or even a week, when that nurse brought it in and the hospital got it. It could be released and spread so far, there would be no quarantine. This is such a weapon, I would think the deep state would hold as a last resort. Maybe they are that desperate now.

While Africans have been trickling over our border in recent months, on Friday, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that “the first large group of people from Africa” were apprehended in the Del Rio sector of Texas. In total, 116 individuals were apprehended in this African caravan on Thursday morning, including 35 from Angola, one from Cameroon, and 80 from Congo.
This demonstrates that the global migration, at this pace, will be a bottomless pit, because even if we eventually empty out the northern triangle of Central America, there are unlimited regions in the world where poverty is pervasive and from which people will travel to seek the de facto amnesty being offered.

The per capita GDPs for Angola, Cameroon, and Congo are $4,247, $1,452, and $2,147 respectively – all below that of Guatemala. Would-be African migrants have so far largely lacked the family and friend ties the Central American and Mexican immigrants have after years of illegal immigration from those countries. Once the seeds from these newer countries are planted, there is nothing stopping the illegal immigrant chain migration phenomenon from spreading to other parts of the globe in the coming years.

But when it comes to countries like Congo, there is an entirely new dimension of concern – dangerous contagious diseases. While the problems of mumps, tuberculosis, scabies, and chicken pox from Central America are bad enough, the influx of African migrants takes the concern of contagious diseases to an entirely new level.

Congo is experiencing the worst Ebola outbreak in recent memory, with over 1,300 fatalities since last August. The Ebola virus is extremely deadly, and there are no vaccinations or reliable treatments for it. While CBP noted that the group of Africans was given a medical screening, the challenge with Ebola is that the initial symptoms are often unremarkable, such as such as fever, headache, and weakness, and are therefore difficult to diagnose shortly after the infection, according to the Centers for Disease Control. In fact, according to the CDC, “When someone gets infected with Ebola, they will not show signs or symptoms of illness right away.”

With family units being released within days, often within hours, how can our government be certain that Americans, not to mention Border Patrol and local health officials, are not being put in danger? This is why the law (8 U.S.C. § 1222(a)) requires the government to detain all migrants “for a sufficient time to enable the immigration officers and medical officers to subject such aliens to observation and an examination sufficient to determine whether or not they belong to inadmissible classes.” This was for all migrants. It was always presumed that we would never take in people from specific countries that were experiencing deadly epidemics.

I asked CBP’s press office whether CBP has a different protocol for dealing with migrants from Congo or other African countries with risk of diseases, such as not releasing the migrants as immediately as Central Americans. A CBP spokesperson replied that “the process is the same, officers and agents review all individuals they come in contact with for signs of illness and notify CDC as needed.”

Again, Ebola and many other illnesses are not apparent through immediate symptoms, and most of these aliens are not held long enough to fulfill the dictates of given the incubation period required. It’s quite shocking that country of origin would not play a role in either making these aliens inadmissible or prohibiting their release from detention

They like the diseases, for a couple reasons. One of the reasons is more fuel for the forced vaccination argument. ("See how we protect you? Be patriotic.")

Here's my question. Why not just secure the borders? Looks like my annual trip down south may be cancelled this year. I am concerned about becoming a pawn...if you know what I mean?

Oh yes. The left is in deep silence about ANY of the consequences of their "free entry" movement.

The diseases that crop up after having been eradicated for half a century is only one of them.

Gradual conversion of neighborhoods to abide by Shariah law is another.

Put every and all aspects of life under a PC order is yet another.

This all have been carefully planned and implemented over time.

Trump is moving mountains. It is noisy and wrought with discord from the establishment whose very existence will soon cease to be.
