Correct, didn't even walk down that alleyway... The US is rising bond yields because they are having a hard time finding buyers. The US has to rollover its existing debt into new treasury bills (bonds). At higher interest rates - this makes it more expensive for use to finance our debt. Doom loop is what its called... The end, hyper inflation because we have to pay back those bonds and we'll do it with new cash (printing it). Or you offer a replacement like stablecoin and wash your hands of it all.

Politicians ignore the Constitution to win elections. They promise temporary or unattainable solutions that violate freedom and often to fix the problems they created.

The People simply want freedom and those freedoms lost to a political system that no longer serve us.

Your freedom is the purpose of the Constitution.

That freedom limits the power and profit of politicians because the free market provides an abundance of solutions for each problem, instead of the one that manages to win the votes.

Whether you care about freedom or not; this "democracy" must end.

Unless we unite for the Constitution and the individual rights it represents, we shall become victims of an oligarchy.

    REMEMBER:

The Supreme Court has often referred to the Constitution’s Preamble as evidence of the origin, scope, and purpose of the Constitution. It highlights the intent of government power and its unconditional support for “the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.”

Everything written in the Constitution was inspired by the preservation of liberty. To keep liberty, the Framers constituted a “separation of powers” between three branches of government to furnish the checks and balances necessary to ensure a rigorous accountability in accordance with the Constitution.

They also provided two additional pillars of liberty: the Militia of the several States (Second Amendment); and the States themselves, a union of free states conceived in liberty as part of the Republic (Article IV Section 4), Officers bound by Oath (Article VI), and secured from federal overstep (Tenth Amendment).

    FACT:

Without the Militia, the Constitution is just a piece of paper.

Good meme. Put a citizens head between the two gloves and you'll have a great symbol for the Uniparty.

I believe all elected candidates already take such an oath, but I wonder how many actually read it no less endeavor to uphold it.

I can only think of one or two candidates who would take such a pledge, and
they aren't in my state/district so I can't vote for them.
The candidates are not chosen by the people; they are chosen by the
major parties who only choose candidates that they can control.
That control results in candidates that will never agree to such a pledge.

    1) Having no mortgage is huge. Been there for 20+ years.
    2) Yeah, be ready for the crack downs. A business license is public info. I would get a PO Box and register the mail to go there. (Things you don't think about)
ALSO, have backup bank accounts at different banks, not likely to merge.
    3) TEST everything for at least 7 days straight. My friend learned his pile of wood was in the wrong place, for example.
    4) Remember it takes 2-3 years of homesteading BEFORE you can eat what you grow. The seeds have to get comfortable in YOUR soil. Our Banana Trees took 5 generations before they were 8 foot tall and produced anything other than Baby Bananas. THIS ONE Surprises most people.
But similar things with Chickens taking 1-2 years before you get eggs.
Also, you will lose some of them. Will you buy or "grow" your own?
The Joel Saladin advice is strong.

My friend said it took 2yrs to grow his chickens to the point of more than enough eggs. They get about 12 a day. And they learned to send some chickens to "Freezer Camp" ahead of schedule based on bad behavior.

    5) Peak Prosperity breaks down the types of Wealth. Connections is a form of wealth.
Upon review, it wasn't the people who saved the most that survived the longest. It was the ones that had wealth in the form of relationships/trust/knowledge.

I recommend hand-held radios, shared bands and regular check ins if you are rural.

Also, some great advice. Most people practice switching over in the middle of the day with the sun out. Can you do what you need to with a flashlight because it happened at 1am? Do you have the quick checklist for just what you need for the first night when power is out?

You know to have spare panels. I would have those PLUS the ground stands, PLUS the battery (Jackery Style) backups that can power things "off-site". I have a few, one for the freezer and one for the fridge. I would do that EVEN if I had Solar Power, so those devices always have power.

Also, I pack/season/freeze food that is ready for a Sous Vide. The energy required to run a sousvide and mostly cook my meat is PENNIES. easily from a UPS type battery. Then I can eat it like that, or finish on some fire. So it's a renewable source for cooking, since I can't burn wood where I am at.

Remember... Have fun... Pack some Calvin and Hobbes... Remember, this is NOT a dress rehearsal... But it doesn't have to be painful (unless you elect Democrats, LOL)

    Agree with you completely.
Observe North Korea in recent years and imagine what they would do if
they controlled a resource that is vital to the rest of the world's economy.
That is the reasoning behind the current military action against Iran.
Trump has not done everything he promised to do, but his actions are
strong evidence that his goal is to Make America Great Again.

I have to go with Thor on this one. If Russia could run over Europe in 2 months it would have rolled over Ukraine 4 years ago.

I'm no expert here, but I suspect China running over Taiwan would be like Russia is now running over Ukraine. A tough nut to crack. The only difference is China may go limited nuke to do it.

Indeed. Met with the CNO this morning. Clued in to defense capabilities and strategy, particularly Navy, but not ignorant of other services. Europe, particularly France, UK and Germany, would sink every Russian ship and sub in 10 minutes. Don’t leave out the Swedes and their diesel, AIP subs.
In the air, Europe is way ahead.
On the ground, Russian tanks are a joke.
There is nothing left, and taking is a lot harder than holding.
Russia is a paper tiger, except for a one-time nuclear event, which is the end of Russia as a culture. China is the real enemy.

Where did you get this idea?

Round trip efficiency for LiIon is much better than 80%, unless you are counting self-discharge from long-term storage (vs diurnal use). 80% would be 20% of the total energy going to heat. Power tools would light on fire.

I agree with the general push of this article -- Trump should have kept his campaign promise to the Right to stay out of needless wars. That includes Ukraine even though it began on Biden's watch because he hugely expanded it (just as LBJ did not start the Viet Nam war but became responsible for hugely expanding it).

But I disagree on several other counts.
    1) There is no realistic possibility that Russia loses. In fact they're within a few weeks of the endgame.
    2) As Vance said in his European speech, it's high time we disengaged completely from Europe and from the Middle East.
    3) NATO is disintegrating even without our help. Turkey has signed on to the new Makkah pact, so anyone who expects them to join us if/when a NATO callup is attempted is kidding himself.
    4) The whole world knows about our shortages of ammo and missiles, and of capacity to manufacture more. If Russia really wanted to take over Europe they could do it in under two months, regardless of any response by us.
    5) Similarly, China could grab Taiwan before we could stop it.
    6) Both 4) and 5) suggest that Russia and China should already be at war with us. Clearly we do not dare exchange nukes with them. The most likely reason they are not openly fighting is that it would impoverish them as well as us.

Like it or not, the next US president, if not the current one, will simply have to accept that we are no longer the world's dominant power. I'm not even sure that we can remain dominant over the western hemisphere, though nobody is currently challenging us on that.

Because if we get along. We don't need their New World Order.

I'd also look into the concept of growing food in the wooded areas. I've seen some livestock raised in forests in order to clear brush.

I have gradually, in steps, been getting into the Gulch for the past 5 years. I love the work I do. I don't like all the stuff that comes with it. I'm paying about $2k a month in taxes (after withholdings). I have to deal with a lot of people who are shockingly stupid. I don't argue with stupid people so it's awkward....haha. I've had colleagues argue with me about engineering standards THAT I'VE WRITTEN because they don't know I've written them (in front of big clients, mind you). I certainly don't like what's happening with all my tax money. I'm ready. Probably dropping out soon.

I think you're positioning yourself well. I envy those who have private water and sewer.

Yeah, I thought it was rather cheeky of EU to blast Trump over getting Russian diesel on the market as they were sucking up Russian natural gas. This war never would have started if the Ukraine government hadn't treated the Russians in Donbas like crap. Make it its own country and end this.
