Agreed about the word gay, which is now forever tainted. The word was a happy word. I grew up with a good friend with the last name Gay before the word was so terribly "repurposed". The famous fighter pilot who was shot down and rescued during the battle of Midway was George Gay and then there's the Enola Gay...

"Hawksbill Station" is a sci-fi novel about what happens when an anti-government protest becomes irrevelant. Imprisonment by one-way time travel is the dictatorship's solution to overcrowded prisons full of festering rebellion, men to one period, women to another, so little revolutionaries won't be bred, and so far back that things haven't even crawled out of the seas yet. What a wonderful place to send certain unhappy people.

"Last week, Moderna issued a corporate press release announcing the results —interim and not peer-reviewed— of its ongoing Phase Three trial of a “personalized” mRNA product aimed at treating late-stage melanoma patients. These are folks who’ve already been treated for skin cancer with other treatments like radiation and chemo. Moderna claimed that some undisclosed percentage of the patients enjoyed a reduced risk of recurrence or longer survival periods.
It’s not new, though you can’t tell that from the Journal’s article. Moderna pitched this exact cancer vaccine to CNBC in January of 2020. The ‘breakthrough’ is older than the pandemic that made the company famous.
Barring delays, the Phase 3 study isn’t projected to finish until September of 2030. The public announcement provided no adverse-event dataset, detailed biodistribution figures, mRNA persistence measurements, or all-cause mortality numbers. “The trial data will be shared at a coming conference,” the Journal mentioned, as an aside.

But the stock still went crazy.
Charlotte Kuperwasser, a cancer biologist from Tufts Medical School, tweeted, “Moderna and Merck announce their personalized mRNA cancer vaccine succeeded in a Phase 3 trial. No data presented, no paper published—but apparently the stock market has already completed peer review.” Cardiologist Dr. Joseph Marine observed, “These corporations have learned how to play the medical-scientific establishment like a Stradivarius.”

The criticism was earned and perfectly justified. "

Me dino and my Troy State University degree in journalism was a small newspaper reporter for seven years all during the Seventies. Did "straight news" such as police (crimes, trials, accidents and other bad stuff) and happier feature stories mostly in Alabama. My editors worried about politics.
Kept trying to move up to major newspapers after gaining experience for a couple of years.
Thought my big break FINALLY came during my fifth year when a managing editor for The Montgomery Advertiser (where they had keyboards and computer screens) PROMISED me I'd be the "police beat" reporter at the end of a hiring freeze.
I'm busy typing away on a mechanical typewriter when my small time publisher and editor walked by, saying, "You can forget about The Montgomery Advertiser."
How the hell would he know that? In a state of shock, I went straight home and called an Advertiser employee I knew there to learn that an editor was mad at the managing editor for not hiring me but someone else with zero experience straight out of college.
(My current boss had once been president of the Alabama Press Association and that day I learned how high "a good ole' boy" system twixt editors that had been holding me back actually reached). Can tell more about that if you care.
By the way, Jimmy Carter was in office when I finally comprehended the writing that had already been on the wall. Walls?
Eventually I changed professions, got a job with the state and now enjoy a lifelong retirement. Worked at a state prison for 21 years. Still received some threats but not by cowards using a phone before I had caller I.D.
A corrections officer I last saw before he got killed on duty relieved me on my shift that same day. That was during 1983. I still stuck around until 2003 quite sick of that place.
To hell with "good ole' boy" newspaper bosses and especially the squishy commie squids of Fake News. At least I never wrote any of their simpering Schiff.

I wonder if the Clot-Shot wasn't part of the plan. Kill off the boomers, force their money to hit the streets and be taxed. Reduce Social Security, and destroy the memories of how it was supposed to be.
