If you think about it. this moment in time represents the beginning of the end of the mighty British Empire. I have mush respect for the British, and have friends and family on the other side of the pond, but the Empire had finally overextended. It's interesting to see the exact moment it happened.
On another note: I found it amusing on July 4th to see British fighter jets making red,white, blue contrails over the Hudson River. A very kind and gracious gesture, if you consider they were helping us commemorate them getting their fannies whipped for the first time ever.

Honestly, towards the end of my fathers life, I was calling and asking him how to finish some electrical projects around the house.
Did I need to? No. But I found it was easier to engage him for 30 minutes if I gave him a problem to solve for me. I was letting him
feel valued (and he was, but he was probably not feeling it. Raising only 4 boys. No girls who are more instinctive at that stuff).

Loved Montessori. My daughter did it for 2yrs, then it became so popular they were asking for more $$$ than my first year of Uni... For Kindergarten. We passed.

The 2 days that broke my heart. At Montessori we asked our daughter what she did all day, she said "Work. Just like daddy!"

Then after a few weeks of Kindergarten in public school, we asked what she preferred. "This school. Montessori was Work, Work, Work, Work, Work! This is so much easier!"

My heart sank... (She went to Uni while in HS, and had 2 full-ride scholarships, so I can't complain in the end. But I was a bit nervous)
