I recall the same method of hiding books in a novel titled "Lucifer's Hammer". Good story I read a very long time ago. Things are getting erased so I save old books, too. I have a book published/printed in the 1890s titled "Military Heroes of The United States", which includes a chapter on Robert E. Lee and a chapter on Stonewall Jackson. This is well within living memory of the Civil War. That would never happen today.

Thanks, ffa. I keep collecting older books for my library (even have little black sambo), because the printed word doesn't change its spots unless it's reprinted. My books cover a lot of ground and I love the feel of turning pages as I progress through that story or that theory or that history. This article reminds me of a book, The Postman, in which one of the main characters hides his most important books in his septic tank for later retrieval. The day may come...

The Robinson's robot was from "Lost in space"; a 60's TV Show and the leg was from a Dustin Hoffman movie "The Graduate" where an older Mrs Robinson seduces him.

I have a few issues sleeping and am using the same way you were. Been trying to keep it down, and have managed to not increase the "dosage". As long as I keep it close...have been able to stay off any time required weeks at a time for work, so again, I believe that I have it under control.

Yes. The original intent was that Federal government was to be limited to protecting all Individual's rights to Life, Liberty, Property, and Happiness against all enemies foreign and domestic. Sadly, we have had those rights trampled upon so badly, that, I doubt any of the Founders would recognize America today.

I'm getting older and evermore cynical. I believe my grand children may end up living in a dictatorship.

We truely need a government that can do less, not more. Defunding government would be moving in the right direction. Defunding maybe too harse, but reduced funding is really needed.
