I also learned on a mechanical - with carbon paper and white out! And if I do not have a tactile feel to a key being moved/depressed I cannot seem to get it to work.....

He was actually shocked that I knew he had been part of that decision. But the fact was by that time I knew more about Hep C and the prognosis , the progression and the treatments than almost anyone. On the planet.
He recovered his composure and told me that they thought it was” the best science at the time”.
Sound familiar? Anyway , soon the result of the test came back and it was negative. We were told she was the first person to have become disease free from that incurable disease. The lawyers dropped her like a hot potato. As a stock broker I was following the news on Baxter closely and I saw another Texas firm had a Class action suit against Baxter. I contacted them , I was given a long list of tasks to complete to participate and the deadline was fast approaching. I got everything together and in time. I verified it with the Atty gal in Texas that the mail beat the deadline. Now she just had to be approved by the judge? Anyway a full 2 weeks after the deadline had passed we got a letter from the hospital that this class action suit might be something we should look into because Lauren had after all been treated wirth Gammagard. My wife and I have never ever trusted any Doctors at face value without me doing the research on what they say or recommend. We have zero trust in big Pharma.
And the whole healthcare system can just plain FuQ off. We are our own advocates in that cesspool that has some wonderful people but they are few and far between.

When my daughter Lauren was 8 1/2 years old Jan 1993 . Wasn’t feeling well with a sore throat ,she was diagnosed with Strep Throat. They prescribed a new drug for her condition. Within 2 days of having the medicine her condition deteriorated to the point of me having to carry her in to the ER. She was diagnosed with an acute case of autoimmune hemolytic anemia AHIA. That was a side effect supposedly 1 in 100,000 of the strep drug. Essentially her white blood cells were eating her red blood cells. Her Hemoglobin in blood carries oxygen from the respiratory organs (e.g. lungs or gills) to the rest of the body (i.e. tissues). There it releases the oxygen to permit aerobic respiration to provide energy to power functions of an organism in the process called metabolism. A healthy individual human has 12 to 20 grams of hemoglobin in every 100 mL of blood. My Daughters count was 4 grams. The Doctors immediately gave her a blood transfusion
And the specialist MD diagnosed her and prescribed GammaGard for A week 2 days in the hospital and then 5 days at home. This medication is made from human blood From hundreds of donors. With out the strep medicine(poison) and the infusion of hemoglobin
She seemed to recover. But was being watched carefully. About a month later , I see a small article in the paper that says 7 people contracted hepatitis C from Gammagard and that’s about it. I ask the MD about it and he new nothing about it.
He then said she didn’t have GammaGuard, I disagreed and he asked the nurse and she confirmed the I was right. He then said he would look into it. The response was 3 experts from the CDC infectious disease , The National Institute of health , The National liver foundation had agreed and made a change allowing infected Hepatitis C people to donate blood for Gammagard. The reason(science) was they said that they thought that the recipient of the diseased peoples blood would have anti-bodies and in essence Vaccinate people from Hep C. Well they passed the disease

The next step was to send my little girls blood sample to Atlanta and the CDC infectious disease lab to have the new but now infamous PCR test. in 93 the results were expected in about 9 mos. Life went on but we had to limit our daughters activity to not have her pass it on to other children and siblings. Sad and scary days for her. Anyway after nine months and no results , I called The CDC and was put through to none other than Fauci. I explained the reason for the call and he put me on hold . Soon he came back on the line and said he had two blood samples from St. Paul with the initials LO and my daughters birthdate. He said no instructions came with the blood in his gravely voice and I told him why it was sent. I gave him the Md’s name and the hospital. He assured me a result would be sent in 6 weeks. After 6 weeks we were told the result was positive. Shortly after that we were invited to the prestigious law firm Robbins, Kaplin Miller and Ciresi. They had won the huge case in Bhopal India against Union Carbide

I'll bet it's one of these with a flat membrane type keyboard like laptops or a Mac. I detest the keyboard that doesn't have movable keys that you can actually touch and causes something to happen mechanically. Of course I learned to type on a mechanical typewriter which was more difficult than a standard computer keyboard with movable keys.

Yeah - I used to tramp around NY, around the Elmira area, and upstate - went camping in the Adirondacks in the winter in a tent - loved it at the time!
But would not do that now on a bet - Waaaay too old for that kind of nonsense.....but did love it at the time.

If I'm following the news correctly, big NYC (and other leftist venue) financials are already growing legs and are walking around competitive neighborhoods looking for real estate that is more suitable to their needs. The move doesn't have to be all at once as they establish residences elsewhere to grow and then downsize the old place until it isn't needed anymore and can be closed. Moving an exchange is no different because computerized modern tech can be built anywhere and be accessed from anywhere. As long as these businesses have a place to run to I expect they will eventually flee commie held territory - that is, if they are allowed to run and can get out while they can. IMHO all commies will not admit they adhere to the Stalin and Mao models where guns and gulags are always on the table and will be played when possible.
