I wish I had saved it, but a couple of years ago, when they had devastating fires all up the Left Coast, I saw a satellite photo of the area. There was smoke emanating from California, Oregon, and Washington, but, curiously, none in Mexico or Canada. You could clearly see the political boundaries. That tells you all you need to know. Sadly, as I recall, only one socialist professor was caught and charged with arson. I doubt if he was convicted.
I personally think the penalty for intentional forest arson should be: Chain him to a tree a mile downwind of his creation.

There was a time when I reckoned the pronouncements of well qualified people in positions of responsibility and authority deserved serious attention if not complete automatic acquiescence.
