Over 99% of trades are executed electronically in massive data centers located in:

- Mahwah, New Jersey (NYSE primary data center)
- Chicago (redundancy and cross‑exchange routing)

The famous trading floor is mostly symbolic and used for media, IPO ceremonies, and a small portion of human-assisted trading.

I saw a post either on Facebook or Instagram (which means it may or may not be true) that stated flat out that a good bit of the Financial District is moving to Plano, TX. (I checked, and that's mainly true.)

Plano is a rapidly-growing suburb of DFW, for those of you who don't know. I lived there for 14 years before we moved to Tulsa, and we moved out at the time Toyota was building their headquarters there. We did well on the sale of our house. The buyers literally did not enter the house (they used a RE agent) until after the sale closed. If we'd waited another six months, we'd have done even better.

All that to say: Texas treats businesses much better than NY ever did or will.
