I rented a new car at Enterprise. Every time I came near the center line or the right line, the steering wheel jerked in my hands. "Fighting" the car took all the pleasure out the driving experience.

I also like the comparison of the cultural differences between the cold war generation and the current generation. Consider the big brother surveillance being built into our vehicles and nary a whimper or care is even thought of by the current generation.

Subaru's Eyesight program uses two cameras mounted by the rear view mirror to monitor how close to other vehicles, and staying in lane. Separate from that program is a facial recognition program called the Driver Focus Mitigation System. It registers up to five people, automatically adjusts seating and other settings to the individual upon recognition, and also alerts if it notices the person not keeping eyes on the road. I know, I just purchased a Subaru Legacy, one of the last made before they quit making them last Fall. The Eyesight seems to work well, but I so far refuse to activate the facial recognition program.

Yes, it has recently been obvious that at least half the people are as you describe. Easy to manipulate with irrational fear.

I recently made a very basic observation. People who vaccinate per directives tend to be very fearful…to the point of demanding that you be fully vaccinated to ensure their safety, in spite of them taking all the jabs. It’s insane…

At this time the US has a close alliance with Israel, maintains close relations, and gets good value in having testing and operating of military systems in combat conditions. All of this is good, there is no merger, these are separate nations.
Meanwhile the US has rules for how a foreign nation can lobby, advertise and promote itself. The rules are fair (IMO) and should be followed.

I cannot help thinking of Canada on this subject. Only a few years ago many Canadians would have thought of themselves as Americans, to the extent they thought. But Trudeaux, Carney and Trump have demolished that for a mix of reasons.

The related matter is dual citizenship. In the 'modern' view, nationality is something to be ignored, and passports are only a travel aid. I feel uneasy about that, just being a cave dweller again.

Having just celebrating my 89th birthday I laughed when a friend asked me how I reduced the electric bill in my apartment from $150 a month to $82 a month. I was amazed to reveal to her if I wasn't in a room the lights were not left on! Duh!!!

Wow! I love my new Ford SUV. It won't let your car move if all the doors aren't closed properly. And it stopped my car when a crazy driver dashed out of a parking lot and missed my front bumper by two inches. 3 friends were almost killed recently when a drunk driver coming out of a parking lot running a red light drunk hit their car so hard the engine wound up in their laps. They are surviiving slowly. nb

When I was growing up. I've NEVER heard of the USA or Israel "Being the first to violate a ceasefire. NEVER!".

Recently, I've not only heard of it, I've seen it. And I've witnessed the USA requesting to talk to specific people, and start negotiating. ONLY to have Israel BOMB those very people.

I push back... NOT because of Israel, Jews, Islam...
I push back... Because SOMETHING has changed. And I feel we are being manipulated.

I wish we did not go after Iran.
I wish 100% of all Israel funding was stopped. They have betrayed us too many times.

In the meantime. I will support whatever decisions President Trump makes...
Because I believe he has more information than I have, and I believe he has America's
best interest at heart.
