I think that the DSA deal is taken up by so many childish minds as a result of now living at the apex of abundance ... A Taylor Swift sort of world ... where, for decades, a large percentage of the population has known no pain, no shortages ... their lives awash in the results of an abundance of cheap, reliable energy. Money, or currency, or credit -- is a lubricant to keep all the parts moving. Underneath it all, is energy. Since 1925, the world population has expanded 4x -- the result of this energy, and to some degree, the technology for its extraction, refinement, employment. Thinking is hard ... it requires the mental capacity, to know how to think and to choose to think. These DSA children, irrespective of chronological age, do not have to think.

How to stop this terminal disease ... in so many words, a sharp decline in cheap, reliable energy: A Long, Cold, Hard Winter. Not just one year, or two, but a generation (or two) of deprivations in all the fineries that make for a comfortable life. Thinking will, once again, become essential for life. The stupid and profoundly ignorant will fall, quite literally, into the ditch, largely through starvation, disease, state eradication and self-deletion.

I do not believe that any election will make a difference. A zombie was elected (selected) by a record 81 million voters in 2020. And through it all, we continued to have Sell-Out Taylor Swift Concerts. I believe that the veneer of a Democratic Republic is maintained as it continues to serve a purpose regarding the notion of individual agency in terms of our "elected" officials. More to the point -- these officials are servants to their lobbyist cohort and operate like so many gears within the Administrative State.

This is the Galt's Gulch. I think that we know how this "ends" -- a slow, painful grind consisting of widespread breakage and suffering against the backdrop of envy-intoxicated rage, open tribal warfare, and the critical mass of exercised brazen incompetence. Prepare accordingly.

I'm not going to call DSA a phenomenal anything. It is a terminal disease infecting the most innocent of us, spreading like wildfire, as if the Spanish flu was given new life as a highly contagious thought. How do you stop a thought, an idea, a campaign so deeply buried that it's already embedded itself into our culture? November will tell the tale, and November is almost upon us.

On January 24, 2020, a 44-year-old pediatric nurse named Deirdre Morley killed her three young children (ages 9, 7, and 3) in Dublin, Ireland, and then attempted suicide. Both of the perps didn't try hard enough, to commit suicide. They were sane enough to plan, plot and carry out multiple murders, but too cowardly to carry through with the self-judgement and making amends.

Right on target comments. Turns out to be remarkably timely. My first chapter of A Serious Chat with Artificial Intelligence deals with "What Is Intelligence." That is now the crux of the debate. "Superintelligent" robots now threaten to "out think" humans and dominate them. This is super "intelligence" with no awareness of reality, of existence; no ability to doubt, reject the false, or grasp of its own limitation; and no values, no "stake" in anything including its own existence. This is the surd "intelligence" of a highly sophisticated jet fighter plane--or of evolution. The threat is its power and its blind obedience. As ever and always, this throws the real responsibility back on person giving the orders--the only aware moral agent in the room.

Why did reading that cause for libtarded confusion make me the dino laugh? Otherwise, that fine mess of a trial is most sad.
If I'm not mistaken, a month or so ago I somewhere read about another woman who murdered three of her little kids, had some sort of a trial that eventually set her free young enough to remarry and have three more little kids.
So what did she do? She murder them too!
Wish my jogged memory retained more facts. Tuesday next week almost aged 80 me dino will be telling my primary physician that I've been forgetting stuff off and on.

I agree with others here; I believe the lone juror got it right. She planned to kill her kids, she killed them, and she admitted killing them. What part of that did the other eleven jurors not understand? She's guilty. Whether or not she was playing with a full deck at the time she committed these three murders does NOT change the fact that she did, in FACT, commit them. How anyone sitting on a jury could find her not guilty of them is beyond any thought process I could muster.
