Why poverty in Eden?

The economy is roaring along. Thanks to Trump and his use of Capitalism's tenets we are truly the wealthiest nation in the world. Is it not obscene that there are places in , let's say New York ,that make Soweto look like Beverly Hills. We have had ineffectual poverty programs and still there is a desolation that seems to be tolerable because of some unspoken conviction of futility. "The poor will always be with us," but nobody uses such words any longer. They use code words instead, such as 'structural' and 'behavioral' as long as the middle class is doing fine. Not one penny should be spent on foreign aid until those who live in say, East New York are made to have the opportunity to get education and training without fear of retribution.

LOl, yes, I know what you mean. I had an incident where a young lady almost ran me over to get into the handicapped parking at a grocery store close to the door. She was obviously in a hurry over something. No handicapped tags or sticker or flag on the mirror. As she bounded out of the car and began a brisk walk to the entrance I remarked to her "You don't look very handicapped to me." She flipped me the bird and shouted "F**k You A$$hole" to which I responded "Oh, mentally handicapped, sorry!". Others watching this all transpire had a good laugh.

I had an almost exact same experience. Only mine was I was buying the (at the time) four for a dollar frozen microwave burritos to get by until payday. Two "ladies" in front of me had two carts literally overflowing with seafood, steak, and all matter of junk food and sodas etc. They checked out and since I only had a couple of items, it took 30 seconds for me to check out. As I walked to my car, I saw them loading it all into an Escalade parked in a handicapped space. If I ever was in power, the first two things I would have a complete overhaul of the handicapped parking and the EBT program. Both are overrun and corrupted by the same people.

The Squad - the four of them - have less combined brainpower than a garden mouse.

And that is unfair to the mouse.

The media definitely fits in that boat. How many of them would continue to exist in a true socialist state? Answer: None.

My own experience with society's interfering with emancipating the poor from their status has two important incidents.

Years ago, my first ex-wife (may she rest in peace) was a teacher in a bad neighborhood in New York City. I was self-employed as a house-call physician for a while and made occasional visits to her classroom. One day, her class and others went on a field trip to Staten Island (a bus ride perhaps an hour away). I brought a half-gallon canteen full of water. After the children were outside playing for a while, I noticed that there was no opportunity for anyone to get a drink of water easily and ordered the children to stand in line and cup their hands and I would pour some water into each person's hands. They cooperated. Teachers later marveled at their obedience; I merely note that the teachers ignored their obvious needs and I didn't. Uncaring! The teachers union, permitting those idiots to oversee children, are part of the problem. Have you seen the practice questions for the PRAXIS test that is generally required to get a teacher's license? It's ridiculously easy. The unions want malleable idiots to be teachers, people easy ton control, people who will surrender union dues without dissent, children be damned.

More recently, I sent a DVD to the local prison in Maine hoping to reform pedophiles, aware that teaching children not to talk to strangers and locking up the child molesters though helpful aren't the only tactics to consider. It had conservative and libertarian principles. By way of "thanks," the Maine medical board insisted on my getting a mental-health evaluation to keep my medical license. I consider the response evidence that the Powers That Be want the disadvantaged to remain disadvantaged and the hated and disparaged to remain hated and disparaged. Most of them in the elite ranks are despicable monsters, but then, you have the true believers. They blind themselves to the impossibilities of Socialism and are truly devoted to it. Yet, in the long run, they pay the highest price.

Talk about greed. I've been reading about the exchange of assets by Americans and Nazis at the war's end.I always knew Roosevelt was a sham, but the Dulles brothers,.... oh well, I'm preparing it for discussion in a day or two.

Ha, reminds me of the time I went in the pharmacy with my 2 years younger husband to get a flu shot. Pharmacist gives it to me, and says....what about your dad, there?

Hahaha, my husband was in danger of losing a wife that day.....!

Go guy! How about having colleges co-sign student loans and/or guarantee the degree the student is seeking is other than 'underwater basket weaving' and he/she will be able to get a job with it!

The dirty little secret of the elites is that they are totally and completely dependent upon a slave class. They must have a slave class to support their looting. When feudal serfdom was no longer in vogue, they invented Marxist victimhood where they persuade people to abandon individual responsibility in favor of their own style of looting and blame it on "the rich". This is the heart of socialism - the institution of willing slavery.

    Don't kill the dog.

Dogs, cats, horses are depending on us. It is not their fault when rules set by humans end up in conflict.

The BW is a very frugal shopper to this day. Buy one get one free is the order of the day...every day. She hates when I shop with her, because I buy what I want, the more exotic, the better.

When we were 1st married we would splurge on a occasion with onion buns for our burgers.
If we could add Mac and cheese it was a feast. I was sixty pounds lighter then , but hey 1 1/2 lbs a year adds up. The Beautiful Wife delivered Three kids and is still 115. Sorry mind wandering....

Silly me used to think that people don’t want to be on assistance and given a chance would spare the embarrassing position of being seen in public using food stamps. That story you told is just the opposite.
Good news is that Trumps Job promoting economic policies has taken 3.5 million off of food stamps.
Food stamp participation has hit a 10 year low.

I may have related this story in the Gulch in the past, but here it is again. True story that took place in the mid '80s. Earlier in my working career I didn't make a lot of money and with things like a mortgage and car payments the family budget was stretched thin. We learned to make things work and, of course, the food budget was not going to allow expensive items, either.

My wife called me at work and asked me to pick up some cheap hot dogs and buns to cook outside for "something different" for the kids and they liked hot dogs - so did I, actually, and still do. At the checkout line in the grocery store I was preceded by a man in a nice shirt and sport coat and nice shoes who unloaded his groceries and two big bags of dog food onto the conveyor belt. To pay, he dropped a bunch of food stamps on the counter to which the checkout girl informed him food stamps will not pay for dog food and he had to pay by other means. He instructed the girl to take the dog food off the conveyor and ran back into the store leaving the rest of us waiting in line. He returned with a stack of steaks and asked if the food stamps would cover them? Yes was the reply and he proceeded to check out. He turned and looked me right in the face with a big grin and laughed "My dog's gotta eat! ha ha". My taxes bought steak for this man's dog while my family gets cheap hot dogs. Honestly, I wanted to kill him - and his dog. The look on my face must have betrayed my thoughts because he dropped the grin and left immediately. Oh, he got into a late model Cadillac and drove away. I will never forget his face or the sound of his smirking voice saying "My dog's gotta eat".

In one word: because of the greed of the elite.

Their concern is to get their millions once close to power. Do you think they care about the constituents? The homeless masses in Silicon Valley, LA or San Francisco?

    NAH!

The concern is only in the slogans that the sheeple buys wholesale.
