Gene expression and much else of the body's state changes with emotional state, especially habitual state, to some degree. Meditation can teach one technigues for noting one's state and its sources and modifying some of the feedback loop. It also affects serotonin and other brain chemistry to some degree and not always in a positive manner. But it does not make "molecular changes" directly.

I studied yoga focusing on breath and meditation back in 1997. Didn't cure my tinnitus but I can focus it away sometimes for months.

I enjoy meditating and I always feel better when I do it consistently. Nice to know there is proof it helps.

The analgesic drug market in the US alone amounts to over $2.3 billion annually for pharmaceutical companies like Proctor & Gamble, and that’s just for over-the-counter drugs. Could simply practicing meditation eliminate the need for expensive and side effect-causing medication (including some that can degrade the body’s natural immune response)?
