Pelosi will kill impeachment

Pelosi is no idiot and will not bring Trump impeachment to a vote. She'll canvass each Democrat member, claim that she's determined impeachment doesn't have sufficient votes, but will refuse to identify the nay voters or their numbers. This will protect her members on both sides of the issue by allowing them too say whatever they want, and how they would have voted. Additionally, it will let the Democrat senators seeking the presidential nomination off the hook to campaign in January and February, crucial months for their campaigns. Last, it will dampen somewhat the Republican backlash that would come if a House impeachment vote were successful.

    Your message is clear, CG. You oppose Trump because he opposes the deep state and your only excuse is that Trump isn't your definition of "presidential". Trump is an uncouth boor who doesn't suffer fools or give deference to people who are his enemies or to those who are traitors.
    That's a great reason to support evil treasonous looters like Obama and Hitlery.

    To make light of this, I keep thinking of the funny scenario where Congress impeaches President Trump and removes him from office, possibly with Trump goading them to do it. In this scenario, Pence becomes president, and Trump is freed from the burdens of being president and creates a media empire for his deplorable base. Pence runs for president with a VP who's a non-clown moderate Republican from a swing state like Florida. Democrats have been totally gearing up to run against a jackass and lose as they did with Mondale to Reagan in '84.

    I don't think this scenario will happen, but I think it every time I hear them answer a question about what they would say to moderate Democrats about their socialistic policies. "The point is to defeat Trump," they say. How stupid they would look if Trump isn't the nominee, either due to a stratgem, scandal, health problem, or disinterest.

    I don't think this scenario will come true. It will be socialist vs reality TV star. Neo-liberal tech optimistis will not be represented and shouldn't pay too much attention.

    I don't care that much because I don't see any outcome improving liberty. I'd like to see this state of affairs lead to reforms that create a disinterested system to limit the power of the Executive branch and make the Legislative branch make the hard decisions. I don't know how to do that.
