I don't know about that. It was his will (literally!) that the Peace Prize be awarded by a government political entity, rather than any scientific organization.

It is important to note/know that the group that awards the "Nobel Peace Prize" is NOT the same one that awards the science prizes. It is a committee made up of people appointed by the Norwegian Legislature. Unlike the other prizes, the committee that awards the Peace prize is the same body that determines who qualifies. In the science Nobel categories the academy or institute for that branch is the working body, and the deciding body is separate.

imo, the peace prize has been a political bu||5#!t award in all but a half handful of instances since the 80's. They should just accumulate the money and award it ONLY when an individual actually creates lasting peace. Its as bad as the rubbish Person of the Year from Slime magazine.

The Nobel prize(s) stopped being reputable when they gave one to O before he did more than speak. At that point the magnitude of the awards essentially became the equivalent of a pat on the head for aligning properly rather than recognition for outstanding achievement that impacted and advanced the whole of humanity.
