The Profiteers of Corporatism are not to be underestimated, and neither the ignorance of the Prey. Of all the fiction I've read over the years, some 1500 + works, only Dune comes close to the present day charades. Thank you for your candor and equitable input.

Hydroxychloroquine does not work on influenza virus, but Tamiflu does, very well, in fact.
Logical, and even illogical but ethical people have a hard time grasping what is going on. Hydroxychloroquine has proven efficacy, safety, is cheap, plentiful... In fact the only thing going against it is that it is old and cannot be patented.
Instead of trying to logically cipher it out, pretend that your only motive was extraction of dollars from the crisis at hand. Most dollars? Vaccines. Federally financed and mandated. Vaccines have never worked on coronavirus, which is usually just the sniffles. The immune system handles it well enough, though coronavirus has the sneaky strategy of mutating frequently, so it may infect one family member, then another, and so forth. By the time the first has become immune, the last to be infected may reinfect the first, because the virus's immune signature has mutated and is no longer recognized by the first member's immune system. So vaccines will not be effective, yet they will still be heavily marketed because they are so lucrative.
Hydroxychloroquine prophylaxis costs me $20/mo,cash price. Not lucrative for anyone, really. In fact, like most health strategies, it deprives the industry of health related revenues.

The HCQ-AZ combination, when started immediately after diagnosis, appears to be a safe and efficient treatment for COVID-19, with a mortality rate of 0.5%, in elderly patients. It avoids worsening and clears virus persistence and contagious infectivity in most cases.

Then it is assumed from there that the severity of illness to the point of death is of COVID origin? Most unscientific. Does hydroxychloroquine also affect other strains of influenza, and what is the cost / billing to the receiver or insurance provider? I could fire off 50 other questions at this time, like a curious child, but have sequestration orders to ignore in pursuit of my survival and happiness.

COVID-19 first. If positive, no other viral tests. Hospitals have automatic $13k boost in reimbursement for COVID-19, $33k boost for COVID-19 + icu.

From your experience, were those who showed illness and were tested for Covid markers, also tested for other viral strains as the cause of affliction?

In the "panic" I'm wondering, also, from the highest reporting nations, if tests for the Covid marker did not overshadow testing for other more severe influenza as causality of affliction and deaths. This would boost the data disproportionately due to testing bias. I will wait until real, or better comparative, actuarials are available.

I'm adding more updates, as a critical care doctor, though not associated with these authors. Score a huge win for Trump in not controlling governors' strategies. As founders intended the move produced fifty different experiments. The winner? S Dakota, Gov Noem. The strategy? Use hydroxychloroquine exactly the way I do in my practice, giving it to providers and high risk patients before infection, 400mg per week prophylaxis dose. Results? Eleven total deaths statewide despite no shutdown. Credit? Sanford Healthcare. All data necessary was already in publication prior to 2020. I kid you not. This has been a total eugenics scheme. Note today's date and this content, and see if it proves out. SB,MD

Apparently, these doctors view point differs considerably from nurses who care for these patients(my wife is one of them). besides wearing protective gear they have to stand more than 6ft away from the patient while interviewing them. Vitals are only taken when absolutely necessary. My wife also told me that ventilators are a death sentence for patients who are in respiratory distress from secondary infection from Covid19. Many of the patients in the facility where she works are from the Navajo Rez who are in marginal health to begin with. My wife had to go to a Urgent Care because of sinus headaches and sore throat she found out that it wasn't the virus just bacterial infection but she complained that their safety procedures were a little over the top. when she arrives there she had to call to let them know she had arrived then a medical assist. came out with a clip board and form to fill out. She had to wait in her car till the paperwork was reviewed by a doctor then they phoned her to come in she was told that Covid patients had to use a separate sanitized entrance. I did a mental chuckle when she was telling me this due to the fact that where she works has pretty tight procedures too.

I haven't looked at that in particular for a little while now. But, early on I had gotten a few anecdotes that really grabbed my attention...made an impression. And, the early statistical analysis I saw was pretty bad. The problem is that the physics of how it is spread doesn't jive with my thoughts that it's much more contagious than the flu. I know when to say, "I don't know"...haha... In general, though, coronaviruses are very hearty bugs.

Yeah, but, there is some recent evidence from more testing, that this CCP19 is very contagious, meaning that many more people have it than was previously thought, many of them have no symptoms and get rid of it without special treatment.
Figures for serious cases and fatalities remain, this changes some of the other ratios.
What does this mean for health policy?
It could mean that weak isolation measures will not work, so we need strict shutdowns. Or it could mean that resources should go to very strict isolation and support of those we know to be vulnerable.

It so happens that skin color makes a difference, darker protects against sunburn, but reduces production of vitamin D, important in colder climates at times of year when you need it most.
In NY some groups get the CCP19 more than others, poor diet, crowded living space, all true, but issuing vitamin D supplements can help.
Vit C and D and zinc are crucial for a healthy immune system and are very cheap as dietary supplements.

Targeting whiteys or producing nations? I think not, but that would generally be where the best data comes from. No surprise that poor nations have very poor data collection ability.

Thanks for the link ... I read the entire article. It just adds up. This whole Corona Crisis stinks in the same way that the Climate Crisis stinks. The fitness centers and health clubs never should have been shut down ... it was known who was vulnerable to C19 as early as late January. Same goes for the schools. Sweden is doing fine -- the pop in the numbers took place in elderly care centers in Stockholm - totally predictable. Several county sheriffs, here in Washington State, are refusing to administer various elements of the lock down orders from Olympia. Government construction projects are allowed - commercial and residential projects are shut down ... however, I can tell you, here in Benton County, residential home construction continues... nobody is going to stop these crews from working. Our state was supposed to Open on May 4th ... looks like that will be legislatively postponed. I expect that a number of local businesses will open regardless, to which I say, well done, let's get back to work.

Thank you. A marvelous find. I've been wondering about the "numbers". One can lie about the numbers but the numbers never lie. I have tried to make sense as to the following : https://news.google.com/covid19/map?h...

This map shows disproportional densities to any natural permutations of those whom I would normally reason were afflicted. The first time I looked at this map I thought if I were to make a snap judgement that this affliction targeted Caucasians. Now I think it is political targeting of equitably producing nations.....more or less.

I have to say that I said something similar to my husband..that i thought they should start with some of the politicians who have made their profession that of being Senators and Representatives for life.

    "Any takers?"
I'd recommend all those selfless members of con-gress and selfless state representatives in cities hardest hit by COVID. Then publicize which selfless members of con-gress decline the invitation to be true public servants.

While Covid-19 may not be more infectious than influenza, there is the fact that this strain of corona virus is novel, that is no one has any immunity to it; however, with the flu, there is a vaccine that gives partial or complete immunity. Those who choose not to be vaccinated each year are still protected to some degree because of herd immunity. That may be the difference.

On the other hand, the radio program I was listening to was asking for volunteers to purposely be given Covid-19 for study to help speed up the vaccine. Any takers?

I just have the feeling this was not just China, but, based on the $350 million of US and Canadian money put into that virology lab, a joint test run to help China seize land in other countries, and to further the goals of American liberals at one worlkd government. I knew a third of US colds were coronavirus. I never sheltered in place, I shopped, I went outside, I drove my car, and I was the supposed high risk group, and I never wore a mask I felt we were being used as lab rats, and that whatever they told us to do, we should do the opposite. When the impeachment failed, suddenly we were inundated with fearmongering. All teh agencies had mention in the CDC grant, half million for virues research and "track spread pattern", to be done outsdie Wuhan in that lab. Who are the other US players, agendies, and millionaires funding this pandemic?

I actually agree. I might have just been dispensing some more fake news. Fake news to me is our biggest threat, just look how powerful it has made about half this nation.

    Greetings NealS,
Humans will not destroy themselves, I think, if they stay true to the three fundamental principles of everything living on this planet: survival, procreation and adaptation.
    Regards.

    Greetings Abaco,
The author explains how he measures infectiousness of the disease.
How do you measure it to come with a different results?
    Stay uninfected!
