Admittedly a rant, however not enough people are pointing out that the emperor has no clothes

I like the molten aluminum. You kill the ants, their queen, and you wind up with a great piece of art.

How much do I have to pay to make the 16th amendment, the legal tender laws, and the Federal Reserve Act all to go away at once? That would be quite the trifecta!

Has our president finished going over the budget line by line yet as promised in his campaign? Did he ever say what he was going to do other than to go over it?

It's interesting how he ran his campaign on mostly conservative principles and promises, then when elected switched to liberal actions and results.

I would like to suggest that this accusation goes beyond socialism. Intimidation, manipulation, fraud, blackmail...these things are wrong even if one postulates a nominal republic as the structure of the government. We MUST have accountability, good bookkeeping practices and a decrease of bureaucracy or 'whatever we call the government' will make no difference.

    Re: dbhalling,
you state, "Looking to the past (literal conservatism) and Judeo christian values are not what this country was founded on." Then in your opinion, what was this country founded on?

I believe it was, only the change is that Judeo-Christian values have changed drastically. Worse yet, those values have disappeared and are no longer respected in our society.

Denis Kleinfeld's column is right on the mark and he is a writer to keep an eye on.

A rant, indeed, but a true rant. A rant filled with venom. But if the venom is acted upon it can cure the disease. The shame of it is that it is a disease we've allowed to be given to us.
Every time a smart observer points out the truth, I flinch. The flinch represents many things; pain, frustration, and anger when the place I revered as a child, and visited with my children, has become the center of insidious evil.

having read mr. kleinfeld's bio, he seems to be an intelligent man and his article supports that. Ayn Rand for all intents and purposes wrote the same and so much more during her time. none in government would actually listen and the same holds true today for this fellow and all who write the same things. simply put Washington is the enemy within.

In, I believe, 1936, Reader's Digest ran an op-ed piece entitled "Let's Stop having Treasury Raids!" I discovered it during the mid-80s and was astonished at how it appeared to be straight from the day's headlines. Once again, I remain so.

No idea if the article is available online, and I no longer have a copy of the magazine. If I can find it I will post a link.

Yes we need to lay out a coherent argument explaining why Individual Rights, Private Property, and Capitalism are inheritable from our Nature as Humans, and are not dependent on Man nor God, I plan to post a modest first step this coming week.

Now we all know that there can be no such thing as a little Socialism. Either America stamps it out or it will stamp out America.

    "legal tender laws"?

You mean laws making money "notes" instead of certificates?

Goes hand in glove with eliminating the credit/money creation monopoly created by the fedres act. Too much power corrupting the limited function of government.
