The COVID-19 pandemic goes along with increased mortality from acute respiratory disease, and measures to limit the spread of the infection go along with increased risk of vitamin D deficiency, especially among high risk groups. It has been suggested that vitamin D3 supplementation might help to reduce respiratory disease mortality.
Conclusion. Vitamin D insufficiency and deficiency are common and account for a large proportion of respiratory disease mortality in older adults, supporting suggestions that vitamin D3 supplementation might make a major contribution to limit the burden of the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly among women.

Off subject. Happened to be at my town beach in Westbrook Ct the day Steve Bannon got arrested off shore in my view...what are the chances?
Beautiful Yacht too, caught everyone's attention.
So, our vitamin D is Chronically LOW to deal with this inflammation. I am a Case Study (Anecdote) where as my diet changed, my Vitamin D came up! THEN I eventually add supplementation...
I have a link here in the same vein that might be of interest. It's an article written by a personal-but-not-close friend, Chris Masterjohn, Ph.D., who studies and writes extensively about nutrition, and especially now, its relationship to COVID. The title of this article is Five New Vitamin D and COVID-19 Studies. Although he does sell some items, his articles are all free to read.
