Even those of us that are paid members cannot edit our posts in our private discussions...and what Freedom does is what we all have to do in the Private area...we feel your pain.

A delete of a topic can't be done after it already has posts from other people. It gets marked as posted by "deleted" instead (I think.)

This is from my perspective. When
I recognized the Quality of a few of the gulchers.
I was happy to pay to be a producer and have since found the majority of interactions to be very valuable. Regarding what editing or deleting is available to non producers that should be taken up with the moderator. I find them to be very responsive.

I did try to delete it, however it is still there, last I checked. That's why I said even a non pay member should be able to delete or edit if its needed.

Delete it and move on. We judge people on the content of their character when it is revealed , either good or bad.

I hadn't thought of that, I guess there is more than one way to skin a cat. I think that would work. Like you say though its more work but i haven't really figured out a lot about this site yet. So I guess I will stick around.

If I realize I have messed up a title I just copy all the contents and create a new one with the title corrected. Then I delete the original. It's more tedious than editing, but I'm not paying for that privilege. Glad you found the Gulch. I hope you'll stay to "meet" more of us.

Oh by the way Its not the people that I am having an issue with. Its the fact that being a free member is not member friendly. It's like saying All men are made equally, only some are more equal than others. Where have I heard that before?

Thank you for the information. What I thought was a way to ask questions turned out to be a way to post to the forum.

I can handle typos, but a mangled title that looks like it am a psycho is not acceptable. I like to look normal as much as I can. LOL

I'm not into wine but the sunset sounds good. It's not that I don't make mistakes, I do and some are more memorable than others. But If I make one I like to be able to correct it. Its bad enough on the first round but to have it a glaring reminder forever is not acceptable in my book.

We are of like mind, I wanted to see what this site was like before I started putting any money into it. My beef with what has happened is that the title really bothers me. It's as if when it was uploaded it smashed two titles together to make one. I know my typing is not great but its not that bad. To me it just really bugs me that I can't correct it. If you can't do very much as a free member, at least allow them to edit when they have to.

I recommend a nice big glass of zinfandel, maybe watch a nice sunset. Relax. Everybody mangles posts sometimes. You should see the garbage I have posted on a popular golf site...lordy.

I am not understanding. I went for a year or two as a non-paid member to make sure I was happy with everything here, before I decided to pay for the site membership. But I don't recall having any problems editing my posts while free, though perhaps I never tried to edit a title.

I did read in the FAQs or other "help" files that they ask you keep editing to a minimum and explain why you edited something, but that doesn't appear to be egregious. Well, sorry you are unhappy here, and I think Freedomforall has the answer for you....

Gosh, N316Jobs, don't take the editing so hard. Most, if not all, of us here have made typos we wish we didn't "send", but you'll see it's not a big deal around here.

I just hope you're not leaving because of us. If you are, can you tell us why?

Click on the tab labeled "More..." at the top pf the page. Then select "Contact Us" from that menu.
Then explain what your problem is to the moderator.

I thought I was asking a question to one of the admins, instead I find I have created another post. GOOD GRIEF!!!! Why should I pay for a membership if as a potential member I can not make sure that my posts read correctly? At least I should be able to edit or delete something If I feel it is needed. HOW in the world do I delete my profile and get off this site?
