When it comes to canvassing and certifying, each state has its own timeline.
When I first started working with computers decades ago, a few people were busily floating the idea that we would use computers instead of paper ballots for our elections. At that time I thought and occasionally stated, "What a stupid idea! How can we know if the result is real or fabricated?" I was met with derisive laughter, "Paper ballots are too slow. It takes forever to count them. This is a democracy. People should be able to vote on everything, which would be easy if it were done by computer."
There have been calls for "Internet voting," which is right up there with the statement: "It must be true. I read it on the Internet," and with the famous New Yorker cartoon by Peter Steiner, "On the Internet, nobody knows you're a dog."
Of course, I also would like to see the following mandatory provisions for all Federal elections:
1) positive ID is required at polling places
2) mail-in/absentee ballots should require the following:
a) a specific request by the intended recipient stating why they can not vote the day of the election.
b) absentee ballots must be received the day BEFORE the in-person vote takes place. No exceptions.
c) absentee ballots must be witnessed by another person - preferably a Notary Public - that the individual filling out the vote is the addressee of the ballot and currently and legally lives at the registered address in conformance with voting/taxation policy (meaning that the address registered as the "primary" address for taxation purposes is also the ONLY valid address for voting purposes).
d) Those in the military voting via absentee ballot should be allowed to complete their ballots with their commanding officer as the witness. All military ballots should be completed one month prior to the day of election and all military ballots should be handled as secure documents. Any tampering with or delay of military absentee ballots constitutes a federal crime.
3) Provisions for same-day voter registration should be acceptable provided the individual shows proof of current address and has a witness willing to vouch for that individual on pain of prosecution for voter fraud - just like for absentee ballots - and has not voted in any other precinct - including by absentee ballot.
Punishments for federal voter fraud should be no less than twenty years in prison and a permanent prohibition from being eligible to work for either State or Federal government.
This rigged election Fake News says Buy-den won is a whole different scenario. What's important is that Trump thinks he has a chance to beat off yet another despicable evil attack.

Rush predicted that Buy-Den and the Jackass Party will claim full credit if the vaccine works as advertised and they are still in power.
Of course, if something is wrong with the vaccine ya just gotta know the Dems will say it's all Trump's fault. It will like Obama always blaming Bush.
