Yes. Many states have this law in place. "You are a danger. So, your rights are eliminated." These laws literally call out law enforcement as the force on this. The version in California was signed by former governor Jerry Brown. I read it as he signed it.

I heard that this was a Jeb Bush directive and has been in place for 10 years or so. Hard to blame Trump for it.
