Jeftovic places media-ballyhooed Coinbase bankruptcy "threat" in perspective
At least with crypto exchanges you have explicit warnings and a measure of choice. Compare that to the unannounced threat of "bail-ins" and/or confiscation based on your political attitudes/activities.
I have 3 questions for you:
1) Was he basically right?
2) Where he was wrong, when he realized, did he change his mind? (a key component for me is NOT that someone is always right. That's scary. I want someone who can admit they were wrong! He has this skill.
3) When he was breaking this stuff down, did listening to him tend to give you a head start, or put you behind?
My answers are that he was basically right, although he fell for the risks being higher than they were, but QUICKLY recovered. He helped me prepare. I bought a Freezer long before they ran out of them at the stores. And I had loaded it up. We did not run out of anything. (Heck, I have 1,000 nitrile gloves left... LOL).
NOW, I do think he is a bit far left for my own political tastes. But as an Engineer... I can learn from ANYONE, take the good and leave the bad. [He keeps quoting the wealth gap. This is a divisive description that is a FUNDAMENTAL (Mathematical Tautology) about a bringing more people out of poverty. The more you do it, the wider the GAP between the rich and the Middle Class. literally by definition!).
His points about the CORRUPTION behind much are this are VALID.
Again. he produces a lot of free information. A lot of it is quite good.
His current thesis on Peak Oil/Energy is starting to pan out. (But he called his company Peak Prosperity b/c he felt the Prosperity of the US and the world would Peak and blow up... 20 years ago... This is me calling him out. But he admits... He is USUALLY EARLY...)
Finally, he predicted the food shortages we are seeing now... A long time ago.
And this winter, if they REFUSE to use Russian Oil... The death counts will be startling. Countries cannot survive the cold winter without Russian Fuel, when it makes up almost 1/3rd of their daily consumption, and MORE when it's a cold winter.
PS: He was one of the few people to break down the spike protein, and mention how "not from nature this was". With that UNDERSTANDING, I forgave him for seeing this as potentially REALLY LETHAL... Because it WAS made as a potential BIOWEAPON in such a lab. I think we got lucky. And I thank whatever White Hats pushed Omicron out there to save us! LOL
MK, you are correct in this context to mention the US civil war (essentially Lincoln's 1860 election and 1861 inauguration as the trigger). Prior to the Civil War, money in the US was essentially what merchants/bankers agreed on. The primary circulating coinage remained Spanish-American silver minted in Mexico, Potosi (Bolivia), Santiago (Chile), and Guatemala--the eight-bit/ dollar system. .
By the end of the Civil War, all circulating coinages except for US mint products were outlawed. And the "comforting" motto, "In God We Trust" was legislated to appear on major coinage denominations intended for circulation.
Dimes were the last silver US-minted coin to escape this motto--until 1916 (the eve of US participation in WWI) with the inception of the "Mercury" series. The absolute last US coinage series to escape the motto, to my knowledge, was the Buffalo/Indian Head nickel that ended on the eve of WWII.
I like his stuff but he was a fearmonger. Finding it hard to be objective about him.
Not just money. There is Emotional Capital, (I think he names 7 or 8 types, including skills and $).
I also recommend "InvestYourself.com" Free weekly newsletter. He talks about EVERYTHING, including being prepared, and how crazy things have gotten. He has articles on growing stuff, including detailed articles on making SOIL!
Example: I recently purchased 500lbs of salt to use for meat preservation (brining) and barter. Planning on getting more. I’ve got buckets of Wheat, Oats, Corn, Rice and of course Beans.
That’s a start. There’s lots more than just stashing food. You need to be able to produce food.
I tend to go more Luddite with my preps. Turn the clock back to 1900. There’s still a lot of that old manual equipment out there.
Dodd: That affect was to orient our educational system away from support of the principles embodied in the Declaration of Independence, and implemented in the Constitution; and to educate them over to the idea that the task now was to effect an orientation of education away from these briefly stated principles and self-evident truths.
And, that’s what had been the effect of the wealth which constituted the endowments of those foundations -– foundations that had been in existence over the largest portion of the span of fifty years -- and holding them responsible for this change. What we were able to bring forward was -- what we had uncovered was -- the determination of these large endowed foundations, through their trustees, actually to get control over the content of American education.
Yes, it's a Vacuum Sealed container that intensifies the seasoning, and therefore you don't need to add any juice. Everything cooks in it's own moisture, no dilution. I sous vide 90% of my meals. I finish them QUICKLY on a grill, with a Blow Torch, or in the smoker, or on a SEARING Cast Iron Skillet.
And it uses about $0.30/day to run it. Because water transfers the heat more thoroughly to whatever you are cooking. Also called a Water Oven, or Water Bath. All of my meat is vacuum packed, frozen. Ready to drop in and cook.
I try to keep 90 days worth of frozen food, and 90 days worth of canned food. Combined with Alternate Day Fasting... If the SHTF, I feel I can make a year. Maybe 18 months... (Which gives me a few months to figure out the other alternatives... without stress)...
Of course, you back all that up with Lead/Brass (What I call Precious Metals... ROTFLMAO)...
So, technically, YES. But it was the overall GOAL/DESIGN. Capture as much sun as I can, and operate on the "UPS" feature, whatever I need.
But it will keep my freezers frozen, and small power tools working. Things, charged (kindle ereader with PDF files on it).
Will it ever replace electricity for my house in FL? Nope. Will I always get sunny days (not really, but enough, in FL). No A/C if we are w/o electricity... But my food wont rot. And I can run my Sous Vide (very very low power consumption), and finish with a flame!
Electric power generation (and, of course, the fuel to produce it.) Wind and sun are expensive to build/maintain and unreliable.
Strict lifestyle changes will be required.
