University of Southern Commifornia Removes the Word ‘Field’ For Being ‘Racist” - May offend “descendants of slavery.”

Excerpt:
"The University of Southern California has removed the word ‘field’ from the curriculum and academic references because it supposedly has “racist” connotations.

No, this isn’t the Babylon Bee.

The university announced that phrases such as “field of study” will be replaced by “practicum” in order to advance the cause of anti-racism."

I guess students at USC now get to learn another utterly useless word to avoid being called names.

My condolences. It's a tough thing watching our parents pass away. R.I.P. That is one of the great traumas in life. The only thing that can be worse is one of our children or spouse pass before we do. God Bless.

I cut the cable about 5 yrs ago. I have an antenna that brings in the 3 networks and Fox. I have a ROKU box for other channels. Same crap on the antenna as cable. ALL deference to your mother. Mine died about 10 yrs ago in car accident. Smart mothers like ours have a way of "guiding" us

Cut your cable. You will be surprised how much better you will feel.
My mother (may she rest in peace) stopped watching the "idiot box" back it the 1970's. She said it insulted her intelligence. It took me a while to learn the lessons of my betters. My mother never lectured me, she dropped bread crumbs. Eventually, like all things in life, you mature and "get" those little nuggets of wisdom your elders were imparting.

So what do you call all the people in the Mid East being held against their will and work for free? What about all the women and children being trafficked around the world for sex slavery, do we get to talk about them? 400,000 children in this country alone "go missing" and are never found. Should we talk about that? Is USC part of that scheme?
No Susan, there really are modern slaves all over the world right now. But you'll never hear the Woke Left talk about anything of actual significance because... Look! A squirrel!
    Prove me wrong.

So it's looks like Charles Manson did in fact succeed in spiking Kalifornia's water supply with LSD.

That's going to be a problem, for STEM majors, because you are going to be studying electrical fields, magnetic fields, gravitational fields...

It's becoming almost as if academia is the new tower of Babel and as it falls the total destruction of language is underway leaving a people who will no longer be able to understand each other. When Western Civilization collapses the remaining tribes will have their own language. Rinse, repeat?

I wonder what the word for "field" is in Swahili. Maybe USC can use that instead. Or would that be Afro-supremacist?

Some years ago I recall a language called "Ebonics". Is that still around or has it already gone down Latin road?

BINGO! Holy smokes, LarryHeart, that is the very first thing that came to mind when I saw the replacement word "practicum"! LOL! A white supremacist word if there ever was one, LOL!

JFC. However, I think at this point that best forward path is to encourage this RightSpeak until the population can no longer tolerate it at all, and begins the vomit via comedy.

While visiting President Jefferson's home, Monticello, two years ago, the phrase "Enslaved People" appeared nearly everywhere. I wrote in my survey of the visit I did not need to be reminded, literally dozens of times, that there were once slaves. However, I never owns slaves -- peddle your guilt trip to someone else.

The slaves who worked in the house apparently regarded themselves as being better than the lowly field hands. Also (an in addition) have you noticed that the word "slave" has been cancelled? It's now "enslaved person."

Then there are the apologies: "Oh, I didn't know that the word 'cancelled' has been cancelled. What word should I be using instead?"
