"The cuts will be to engineers in EVs, traditional combustion engine models and commercial vehicles, the company said. The layoffs will number in the hundreds, despite CEO Jim Farley claiming earlier this year the company would need 25% more engineers than rivals to produce its EVs.
The company expects to lose $3 billion in 2023 on its EV business but hopes for 8% returns on battery powered models by the end of 2026. Ford plans on building 2 million EVs per year by that point.
T.R. Reid, a company spokesman, told Bloomberg: “We’re not cost competitive. We have specific priorities and ambitions that have implications for skills, assignments and staffing needs. These changes are consistent with that. They’ll make us cost effective.”"

Hire more accountants and Ivy League marketing grads.
That has always been a success in improving complex mechanical design and manufacturing.
Just shut your doors now and save the taxpayers the expense of artificial respiration and burial of your brainless corpses.
Engineers, welcome to the Gulch.

When Bush and his TARP bailouts happened I saw a new racket in the making.
We will be buying our old money printing presses back from China soon we can't print it fast enough.
You mean like Bud Light's strategy? And we all know how that turned out.
As I watch my USA implode.

You WILL drive the EVs.
You will be ENSLAVED to pay for the EVs.
Or you will suffer a decline in your apparent standard of living.
They’ll figure out a way to LET us pay for them. If money was actually backed by something tangible it would be hard. But when it’s value is fake it’s not hard at all. If the peasants don’t have enough money we’ll just print more. And give it to them under contract for their time and labor/resources.
THEY know what actually has value. And it’s not the little green pieces of paper that can be willed into existence with the stroke of a key. It’s all the time and effort expended by the dumb herd animals to chase that fiat that has real value. Marx was not completely wrong with he thoughts about the relationship of capital to labor.
There was a reason AS’s working title was The Strike.
Go Galt!
