To not stand up to denounce those in their religion committing atrocities and acting barbarously they are complicit in allowing it to continue. Fear from reprisal only carries so far.

This has happened because demigod ideologues leading the faith, mostly old bearded men, who often privately practice the most obscene perversions, failed to allow the religion to become modernized with the progress of humanity.
One could compare Islam today with the Christian Inquisition Period 1250 to 1475 Middle Christian Era (MCE), the punishments for everyday transgressions and levels of violence are shockingly similar.
Islam was structured for the largely illiterate, dirty, starving human refuse of the developing civilizations around the Mediterranean Sea, Persian Gulf and Red Sea of the Fourth Century. Individuals of the Royal Priesthood of its two main sects, the Sunnis and the Shias have been fighting for the best part of 2000 years, and the only time they unite is to face non-Muslim beliefs and lifestyles they perceive as a threat to their lifestyle.
The real problem is not that the western lifestyle is a real threat to their lifestyle, but that the demigods of the Royal Priesthood fear that the western lifestyle will too readily seduce their adherent followers to that lifestyle and limit their control and income from the mobs of easily led dull and ignorant peoples.
Islam must be given a choice, modernize and join the civil society of the modern world, or join the platypuses on the endangered species list.

That list is odd.
It doesn’t list Dearborn, Michigan as having the largest population of muslims in a concentrated area in this country.(Which, it does.) I’m also willing to bet there are far more muslims in Northern Virginia then there are muslims inside the city limits of DC. *shrugs*
