I think that so long as the husband would be required to do the same for vasectomies, that might be a good thing to return, making people realize what kind of commitment is required for marriage to be successful.

What I find disturbing is how mindless even intelligent young people have become, accepting the promoted trends without question, and defending them ferociously. My son has developed a physics hypothesis that explains how the universe behaves without the "Dark Matter" fudge factor, but at the same time, vehemently spouts whatever progressive line is in fashion, threatening to cut off relations with anyone who tries to argue differently. Fortunately we agree to disagree on those points, accepting that neither is going to convince the other to change.

    Psychiatry is not a science.
Psychiatrists are not able to explain anything using the scientific method.
They should get all the respect of a shamen who has no scientific reasoning,
    that is, NONE WHATEVER.
They should have no power whatsoever to affect the health treatment of
anyone of any age, nor should they be given the title of "expert" in something
that no one (including the so-called doctors and educators) can explain the
cause and effect using scientific methods.
The 'profession' is a fraud and con on patients.
Who decides about surgery for minors? Parents, until the child is an adult.
Any medical operation performed without the parents consent is assault
except in a scientific medical emergency, not a psychiatric quack emergency.

I wish I could. She's utterly militant. There's no talking to her. If I try, I'll lose access to her entirely.

Perhaps you could persuade her to read Trans Nation. It is very convincing. Or ask her to read the first couple of chapters just to see what she thinks.

I see the problem not so much as the gene pool as the meme pool. Demented (destructive) ideas are lodged in the mental/emotional, not the physical system. How humans are affected by millions of factors in their societies and intermingling conditions is beyond our understanding.

Start from what nature injected, namely that two genders are needed to procreate and to keep the lifeform going, generation after generation. Now it comes to pass that the problems of overpopulation collide with the sex drive, which is an animal program not to be questioned or resisted. One sick meme spread like a virus can create world-wide havoc of relationships. So the Greeks in ancient times had only males in their armies, and someone got the bright idea to engage their bodies for pleasure, not reproduction. Pleasure without responsibility for consequences could become an established norm.

Eight billion humans may be enough to keep the breed going, hence an alternative way to reduce populations to manageable size is the good old established, historical method of war and mutual annihilation. The problem there is that the most physically and mentally fit humans are chosen to serve in the killing machines, and their possibly superior DNA is killed off before it can reproduce. The inferior specimens remain home and pass on their second-grade raw material. Of course, there are sperm banks to retain the "better" ingredients. Transgendering may help to cut back on even that method of improving the breed. Will cloning be useful, growing humans starting in a lab dish?

If life is important, for example as the seat of intellect, ways will be found to keep some form of it in existence. Who knows how? If wolves can become chihuahuas with selective breeding, should we care if humans can be re-engineered to reproduce in other ways than mating by force, fraud, or even fondness? Will it matter what "gender" a particular body becomes? Will orgasms be programmed out of existence in genes and memes? What cause will people want to live for if freed from physical reproduction of their own kind? Who will make the rules and give the orders? Or will humankind free itself of being ruled and ordered, what today’s population is still struggling against, especially when it concerns tampering with children’s gender.

It will end when elitists no longer run the world. No sooner.

What does the transgender movement benefit? It gives unethical doctors and scientists free reign to perform operations on "willing" patients that never would have been conscienced even 30 years ago. People now become real-life guinea pigs for would-be Mengele-imitators.

The second thing it does is attack the nuclear family - long a hallmark of stable society. Why? Because family-oriented societies are far more likely to have traditional values of hard work, independence, and a solid grasp on real finances. Children are taught healthy relationships. It's everything these demon-spawned elitists hate.

And as a bonus, you get people who can no longer reproduce. Aside from being perpetually distracted by their psychological issues, none of these "treatments" are reversible - no matter what the hormone therapy advocates want to claim. And with suicide rates more than 30% higher than any other population... The elitists are all about reducing the world's population.

Do you recall that in the not too distant past, women were not allowed to have tubal ligations until they had reached the age of 26 or so, OR had the signature of their spouses?

Having a child in my family who just turned 18 and fancies herself a nice gentleman, I'm all for holding off until they are AT LEAST 30! This whole thing is making me ill.

Many little girls are "horse crazy." They dream and breathe horses, beg for riding lessons or for a pony at the birthday party. (My wife and I get to supply the ponies for those parties!) A few of them assert that they want to grow up to be a horse, or already are horses, as they prance around the house.

So where are the demands for species-affirming care and for trans-species surgery?

If I remember correctly certain religions, including the Catholic Church, used to be very much into surgery for little boys, making them into what we horse owners call "geldings."

With horses and cattle the result is a creature much more useful and easily managed. You have to be really skilled and alert to work successfully with a stallion or a bull. Their fuel is testosterone. Would the agenda for the current "trans" movement be to create a world full of eunuchs?

Minors should not be allowed to make life changing decisions like surgical mutilation or hormone suppressing drugs, and parents who agree to such abuse should be imprisoned. One of the saddest things is to hear the story of one of these children who now realizes what a mistake those decisions were, their bodies destroyed by surgery and drugs, girls unable to have children, boys who can never father a child.

It will end when nihilism and materialism bites the dust as a legitimate way of life.

This is a battle between those who believe in the spiritual nature of life, and those who have decided that technology is the answer, that we no longer need to continue to develop spiritually, that we no longer have to abide by what we have learned, passed down through thousands of generations,(through family, school and religion) about what is good and moral and what works in progressing further in our human destiny..

In the 60's and 70's, the government fomented racial divides.

Today, the government is fomenting generational, or age, divides.

Younger generations are being groomed to not trust, believe or respect their forebears, which is an alarming prospect.

What baffles me, though, is how geriatrics like Biden, Pelosi, Schumer and Feinstein stay in office.

Yes yes its not covered under insurance so this is why the Federal government is pushing for the mutilation of children and giving our counties monies to perform these surgeries. That one word, children says they are too young to be given the "choice" another Dem pushed word.

I heard an interview of the author of that book. It was fantastic. The trans movement is based on complete fantasy..."a man can have a baby", etc. These people need help, really. Not encouragement.

Yes, if parents were better informed and had an opinion they could express confidently, I think fewer families would have problems. The new book that I cited, "Trans Nation," is the answer. But it would be hugely informative to anyone, including on how this kind of thing takes hold in a society.

...As soon as the western civilization deals with it the same I have have with my kids. My son never bought into this crap. My daughter, however, is younger and they caught the kids her age better with this program. I explained to my kids that this is insanity because it normalizes the mental illness of somebody swearing vociferously that they are something that they are not. It's not like being gay. A gay person knows what they are, who they are. Trans is no different than me deciding I'm a bird and jumping off a cliff after arguing with everybody that I'm a bird. That put an instant halt to the whole thing for us. And trust me - a lot of families are dealing with their youngest coming home from school asking, "Do you support trans?"

    No. I don't.

    instead of the solution

i really think allowing them to advertise their posion on TV and other media was a BIG mistake

I agree that there is a conflict of interest in the 'service' 'industry', but they have little means to profit if the source of funds is only parents.
It's also important to cut off the funding for big pharma's drugs that cause craziness instead of curing utter stupidity.
Giving any respect to psychologists who are, in general, crazier than their patients must also be an imperative toward
healing the minds impaired by psychologists and psychiatrists who are in no way scientists or doctors who cause no harm.
Judging using the scientific method, they are NUTS.

Actually if people were more careful about who they marry, they wouldn't need to change their child's sex. It was common knowledge that in my family, the girls all gave birth to boys! I had four cousins all of us born in the same year. We didn't have to worry about getting married. We were all in great demand and we all did a very good job. Louise was a show off 4 boys! My sister had 3. I had 2..Georgianna had 2. Carol had 2. Barbara had 1.Family had a reunion if a girl was born. Big celebration. Crazy Texans.

Fortunately, neither insanity nor irrationality is hereditary, but there is a question about rights. Who decides about surgery on minors? I think that they should decide much earlier than the "age of consent," but probably up to about age 12 or so, parents should decide. But decide on puberty suppressing hormones starting at age 6? And yet, it is obvious that the decision cannot wholly be entrusted to the medical profession. One could say: decide but not anything "elective." But then, the psychiatrists make the case that children with "gender dysphoria" who do not get "gender-affirming care" are at heightened risk of suicide--so...not "elective." Conclusion: in a society where we are 100 percent free to exercise our rights, there will be conflicts and dilemmas, too. "We wandered lost on the mountains of our choice;/And wept, freedom was so wild." W.H. Auden

With the execution of the deep state traitors who stole the 2020 election, return to constitutional limits on
central government power, and elimination of creation of fiat money by for-profit banksters and looters.
The end of public and insurance funding for such idiocy will effectively end it.
If irrational parents choose to throw away their savings on foolishness (since no credit or insurance will be available),
let them destroy their futures and remove their insanity from the gene pool forever.
