The government in '1984' would be proud of the way the National Organization for Women supports men pretending to be women. (Yes, I know full well that's a subjective statement.) But I've often asked the same question that women in this article (and others) are asking: Where the hell is the outcry and uproar from women's groups in protest of all these organizations allowing men to compete against women? By claiming to be "inclusive", they are, in fact, excluding the very group they're supposed to be supporting and protecting.

Yes, this whole "men can be women" doublethink thing would do George Orwell proud.

I was just thinking my early recollection (1991) seemed just a few years ago, but in fact it was 33 years ago already, almost half way back to the 70 years ago you mentioned.

I respectfully disagree; just because things are written down and in bound books does not mean they are not susceptible to being changed. Just look at what happened to Roald Dahl's books.

Me an old dino recalls very shortly after the Flintstones first appeared on TV during 1960 (had to look up the exact year) some organized group of homosexuals announced they were calling themselves gay.
During the early Sixties I read a newspaper editorial (think it syndicated) bemoaning the ruination of the word, gay, that had appeared in so many classic poems and literature.
A flick called The Gay Divorce' was in theaters during 1934. Never watched it.
Just looked up Queer Nation and edited it in. That was founded in 1990. Wrong group of homos to blame. As I grew up during the Fifties, homosexuals were called queers.
Now that's all so hurtful. Maybe. Only blacks can get away calling each other the n-word. Wonder if that applies. New thought~~you know, I don't care.

When you say "Media", do you mean The Mockingbird Media?
If you do, that is a construct of the SeeEyeAye.
So now you know about the Orange Revolution, that nasty piece of work that has been corrupting this world for the last 70 years, has set its sights on destroying our Republic.
    Jack Kennedy was right.
Dulles and his band of merry bandits should have been smashed into a million pieces and scattered to the four winds.
And now you know why he was publicly executed. And who did it.
And now you know the exact date this country began it's slow decent into hell.

    My thoughts exactly.
God made you what you are, and who you are.
I can see someone being angry about being born with deformities, or such bad genetics that they suffer disease, bad health and die at a young age.
But to poison your temple, God's gift, with hormonal drugs, worst yet, cut off your bits... now that's just sick. It's worse than sick, it's blasphemy. It's Psychosis.

This a reflection of of the state of the world, a state of mass psychosis.

Over and over I think: how much more of this can go on before that thin veneer of society just peels away?

How bad to things have to get before we enter the Great Tribulation. Or, are we already at the gates?

So when the Flintsones were having a Gay O'l time, were they really being homosexual?
Or is our entire language just being perverted?
    Pun intended.

"Girls will be boys and boys will be girls, it's a mixed-up, shook-up world, and so's my Lola, L-O-L-A, Lola, Lo-Lo-La, Lolaaa" -Ray Davies, 1970

It's Sodom and Gomorra all over again, kids.

I enjoy the older authors - Poe, Milton, Emerson - some of their ideas I do not agree with, but they always make me think. And the way the language has been basterdised over the years..... Have everything written on paper and bound books...cannot be changed on a whim the way that could/has happened with a kindle......

That was inspired by my currently reading a collection of scary stories from a time period that includes Lovecraft and Poe.
That's when "queer" and "gay" meant something else before certain people came out of closets to get into everyone else's face as if they are oh so special..

When and where did all this nonsense start? I think of Eric Garner, George Floyd, Black Lives Matter, Barrack Obama, and other similar misinterpreted incidents created mostly by the media, but Rodney King is the earliest (1991) I'm aware of. All of these have had negative results for those that created and perpetuated them as well as everyone else. Not saying that there are no legitimate cases. Same goes for the alphabet weirdo's, they are going to make the world a worse place to live if it continues to grow. I see it now spreading into hating Jews again, and being able to demonstrate against them in our own capitol. Will Italians, Germans, Lithuanians, Mexicans, or whomever be next? Maybe we'll attack the Indians, haven't heard much about them lately. I think we need to go after the politicians, especially the ones that have demonstrated such stupidity and ignorance (Islands turning over due to people on them, and now the moon is made up of gas, and the sun would be difficult to go to). The people need to band together and clean house. So now if we could just find a leader to do that for us.

Agreed, but I see many do have his point of view but miss out on his delivery techniques and sense of humor. He was informative and maintained the show like a rolling meme. He made me think and laugh in a way other hosts just don't quite reach.

Agreed. Make an "open" category that absolutely anyone can compete in.

And how's this for the ultimate irony? We'll let the top trans women compete against the top men, and we'll howl our asses off when the top men beat the top trans women.

Of course, this will be derided as totally unfair, with trans women having to compete against actual men. How dare they? (Still laughing at the thought of trans women whining when they get beat by men.)

Ayn Rand also warned us about "Comprachicos of the mind". IMHO, the vast majority of the sexual confusion we are plagued with today is taught (groomed), not imposed by nature. With that said, if our society/government is going to force us go down that road then your solution for sports is the only way to go. If an individual insists on being Napoleon Bonaparte that insistance doesn't mean the rest of us have to bow our heads and address the person as "Your Excellency" or be forced to place this person in charge of the military or anything else. Seeing this contemporary phenomenon for the mostly charade that it is does not reject Objectivism, it embraces it.

Seems like a simple solution to this issue would be to have a separate division for trannies.

Could be. We don't know the criteria that evolution's process of species preservation uses. We are seeing currently one method that's working to preserve what evolution considers the most "survivable"--which may be of quality rather than quantity. One "survivable" feature we have built in so far is rejection of what's different from us, or different from what has been long embedded in culture. The memes are having their war.

"evolution" would not work to reduce births

it would work to increase births to increase mutations to find the most survivable

The seemingly increasing occurrence of gender mutations may be evolution's device to reduce birth rates. Better than killing off large numbers of otherwise efficacious beings through epidemics and wars.
