This is, literally, the LUCKIEST man on Earth!

I can routinely put 10 rounds, into an area the size of my hand, on a 100 yard target, with an AR-15. Donald Trump had someone or something looking out for him...

depends on the type and level of protection

do not forget the green tipped 556
those have steel penetrators in them and also are less accurate due to the core sometimes being off0center just a bit

I loved it when the announcers were claiming that the shots were coming from several hundred yards away. Anyone with ANY shooting experience could tell that the shots were being heard far too quickly to have been that far away.

Then, again, the MSM reported "noises" and "popping sounds" when they were CLEARLY gunshots. This was immediately confirmed when Trump grabbed his head and dropped to the ground.

Man, I was originally crushed as I though the bullet had entered his ear, but was massively relieved when it was shown that it nicked his ear as it passed him.

I'm going to answer two responses, here.

Number one, the shooter fired directly at Trump. The bullet passed through his ear and struck another victim. This makes absolute sense. In fact, there was a different camera angle that shows a man, wearing a red hat and vest, near the display board on the right, dropping immediately after the shooting started.

Number two, my wife has asked about the other victims. My explanation is that the shooter fired at Trump, but didn't take enough time to re-aim, and fired randomly into the crowd...hence the other two victims. Anybody who has shot a semiautomatic rifle knows that staying on target can be difficult, especially with inexperienced shooters.

As for the photo of the bullet passing Trump "before" he was wounded...Trump hesitated and grabbed his ear, several milliseconds AFTER the shooting started. There is nothing sneaky about this, human reaction time is not immediate when pain is felt. The bullet could easily have been several feet past Trump before he was able to respond.

Interesting. Bullets DO move faster than sound.
I remember a daytime tower shift during the Nineties when a deputy warden had all the tower officers one by one shoot at a target that the dog warden moved.
On Tower #3 I heard all kind of weird whistles and buzzes when Tower #2 and Tower #4 fired shotguns and AR-15s at that target.
Later the Dog Warden shocked me by saying I was the only one who hit that target.
Feels good to brag about that but like Rush Limbaugh once said, "You're not bragging if you are telling the truth."
Towers #2, #3, #5, #6 were closed due to an electric fence being installed shortly thereafter.
Towers #1 and #4 required opening the front and back gate and #4 had a sally port that could let trucks inside.
For some reason Admin liked me on #4 a lot until I retired.
And for some reason I didn't mind being often being assigned above the maximum security pit of a prison named after an officer who got killed in there.

There is a photo that supposedly shows a bullet's path to the right of Trump's head, but he isn't wounded yet.
Trump also supposedly said he heard a whistling sound and then moved just before he was hit.
I wish I knew what actually happened, but then they'd probably have to kill me.

True and it appeared to be with the first shot, but I wonder if the shooter was shooting at Trump when he killed another plus wounding two others.

Getting older appears to me dino to be dulling my perfection.
Trump possibly wearing a "bullet proof" vest failed to occur to me.
Nevertheless, that loser possibly being a lousy shot DID.

the Geller Report had a view if Trump has not turned

it would have likely been ugly for us all....

depends on the type of armor

it would likely need to be ceramic or metal in there somewhere

556 goes through most levels of kevlar

me, i have kevlar on top of a plate to stop 308s

5.7X28mm is a baby 556 and it ignores most kevlar

and a 556 green tip (steel core) is worse, but also suffers some accuracy issues
if the core is not positioned exactly, the bullet wobbles as it goes down range

Body armor probably would've negated a torso shot from a 5.56 round.

But then...maybe that's what he was aiming at and he was just a really lousy shot?

You are right that a torso shot would have been easier, but did Trump have a protective vest? I agree with AW that this was not luck.

Actually, the kid would have succeeded had Trump not turned his head in that second. I refer back to CK's observation.

My 45-70 medium sporter falling block was one of my favorite target rifles. At 100 yards, I consistently grouped 5 shots within a 2.5 inch circle. Of course, I had to reload after each shot, but it was a ball. The assassin was not a trained shooter, thank heavens!

At one of my gun clubs there is an older guy who builds flintlocks, and brings them to family day. He does all kinds of cool things like splitting a ball on an axe head and popping two balloons. Very cool.

I don't think luck had anything to do with it. God moved his head out of the way. nb
