I think Biden, and now she, have been acting as though the fix is in. If you watch the documentary "Let My People Go" you can understand this. The "F-curve" is something I'll never forget. The election process has been horribly mangled. Probably will never come back. With Joe on the ticket they realized that they'd have to cheat a hell of a lot. If they can just get some candidate who's somewhat close they can sew it up with polling place shutdowns due to "broken pipes", "plumbing failures" and other creative ways to get people out of the room and institute a short shutdown. I will say that I think Kamala has taken this serious enough to avoid public speaking while drunk. She sounds much, much clearer. She's still deranged, but that familiar delivery of a sauced college girl struggling to stay awake on the barstool isn't happening. So...there's that.

I was going to ask the same question. It seems that when she is giving a speech, she doesn't cackle. But in one-to-one interviews, she seems to end every sentence with that nervous cackle. Maybe that is why she hasn't done a press conference in the 16 days since her coronation.

I presume the accepted strategy is often to choose a VP who embodies party views more radically than the Presidential candidate. It's insurance. If he was chosen by the party, he is likely hiding a rabid dog persona towards all their party agendas. In this case, being anti 2A, for one, is what I hear.

I think that happened with Pence behind Trump in his previous presidency. Detractors may have hated Trump, and wanted him out, but Pence as a president would have taken policies beyond conservative, in an entirely Republican direction.

Some of us are greatly alarmed at the thought of Harris being installed as a President (installed, not voted, btw,) but I am sure that if Walz stands behind her, he will bring policies that will make conservatives (and objectivists) want to leave the country.

The box Walz checks is radical progressive - a double layer to insure the continuation of the fundamental transformation (destruction) of the American constitutional republic. Just like Vance is intended to continue the conservative path laid out by Trump.

I hope this choice is a death trap for the Democrats, as Pennsylvania is now ripe for Trump's picking, and makes the choice of Vance as a rust belt hero a stronger deal. I notice one voice not heard to be praising the choice is Senator Fetterman, who wasn't happy with Shapiro because he's too progressive, so we'll see if that has a subtle effect.
