We went with a Roku device and a Tablo for over-the-air recording, along with a DVD library of our favorites.

The Roku allows access to numerous streaming 'channels'. There are a lot of old classic movies available that way, and it allows us to avoid most of the newer, woker stuff.

The Tablo gets us over-the-air recording capability, and there are lots of old sitcoms on the 'side' channels (the xx.2, xx.3, etc).

Between the two, we have almost an embarrassment of riches in older, pre-woke entertainment available. We never have a problem of nothing good to watch, but rather sifting thru all the 'good stuff' to narrow the choices.

    Happy watching!

Yea, I liked Capt Pike too. We have concrap for now, haven't decided where to go to escape. Everything seems to have draw backs and I am not that tech savvy.

i did hear the one with Captain Pike is good

we are still seeing what we want for streaming

ROKU had way too many shows trying to divide us, trying to appeal to specific groups.

i miss Fox News. but how they provide their channel is a REAL PAIN.
we'd have to get a subscription for $40 a month to Sling
i do not miss it that much

I follow the same procedure. If I want anything Disney (mainly the old stuff) I'll pick it up in a second hand store so the new woke Disney corporation doesn't get my money. In fact, that's how I do all the Hollywood stuff nowadays.

Good, no money to disney. I would imagine they made everyone queer in these shows. They did on a couple of Star Trek shows. The only one I watch was Picard.

seems this show was set close to the end of the Star Wars Republic

From the article: "...'The Acolyte' ended up getting a strong-but-not-spectacular 78% approval rating from critics after 246 reviews. The audience score, meanwhile, only hit 18% at more than 25,000 ratings." Who cares what the woke critics think if the audience thinks it sucks? I don't watch anything out of Disney anymore so I don't care what they do. The article suggests the people in the audience (like me) must be racist or sexist, but I say the audience is tired of being pissed on by the likes of Disney and told it's only raining.
