Added note. The 20th of January was added in 1933 because the original date was in March after the election. I still think January is too long.

The only way to change the long wait between election and swearing in is by changing the Constitution. The Founding Fathers enshrined that particular item at the very beginning, when there was a huge lag in communication between the colonies. It is no longer useful, should be removed, but a constitutional convention followed by the proper voting is the only legal way to do it.

More than likely you're +1 right. Putin has made nuking threats before and was a part of the USSR who once viewed their threats of shooting nukes at us as in the USA the same thing of nuking themselves.
Nevertheless, I'm quite sure Putin is tempted to initiate the scenario I laid out. Biden is weak as tater water as a fellow corrections coworker used to say of those lacking intestinal fortitude.
I also have a prediction of NATO's response for Putin nuking no one else but the Ukraine illustrated by listening to the sounds of chirping crickets and the subdued for worried squawks of very frightened chickens.

The transition period is fine but I think once the new president is decided after the election the old president and his entire admin should have no ability to spend any new money or make any new legislation or do any pardons.

We are pushing Russia inch by inch, and its in support of some shit country . The argument is that if Ukraine goes to russia, so will most of europe. I really doubt that, as Russia would have a hell of a job controlling the former colonies in europe from major guerrila warfare from residents who were just not having russian control.
