I am pretty bummed out. I really thought that the group I have put together could be first in this area, but we definitely are not.

Indeed, it is a game changer, Zenphamy. I wanted to be the guy who changed the game, but I wasn't fast enough.

This is a world changer. The 3D gun just became a reality.

Good to hear. I would have invested in one of these machines myself, but my customers experience, the cost of the machines, how they routinely break down (apparently exacerbated by sporadic operation) and the expense of repairs and wax... Well to date it hasn't seemed like a wise investment.
If they were very reliable and the material was affordable, I could supply patterns for short orders to my customers and diversify my operation. Before SLA machines I used to produce a lot more prototype tools. It did cut into my business and force me to produce larger tools than I prefer.

3D Systems is one of my partners. The printers that you are talking about are MUCH more expensive than the Australian one, but robustness is an issue I am working on.

    Hello jbrenner,

Build a bigger, better mousetrap. The envelope is still too small on these units. I have customers that have purchased machines like these ( http://www.3dsystems.com/quickparts/inve... ) but have recently given up on them and outsourced their pattern needs because the machines are not robust enough. They are constantly requiring very expensive maintenance and break down with clogged nozzles and other problems...
    Regards,
    O.A.
