After I "sign out" I still show as being "online"

It seems to take a long time (hours even) before my name is removed from the "online" list after I've "signed out". Shouldn't that be immediate? Sometimes I might want to be a lurker and this really works against it. :)

Hi LetsShrug. I saw your post and was looking into this. The way it is supposed to work is like this. If someone does not interact with the system for something like 5 minutes or so, they should fall out of the online list. This is regardless of whether they are logged in or not.
From what I have seen, it looks like it is working OK. But I will pay more attention to this over the next few days to see if I can uncover something.

Oh man! Now I have to go back and re-read all of your previous post and salt them with this new information. Sigh. (This could take WEEKS!)

it is sort of whorepling. who do I think I am-answering on this post? I do this with directions too. I'll be the one confidently saying go this way and then do that, and someone will end up in the middle of the desert. literally. I just can't stop myself.
now take that template and apply it to ALL my posts on here. buyer beware

your firefox shows the tabs all across the top. so everytime you click on the email link from a new comment you received, it will pull you into a new tab. you have to close all of them down to sign out. but I think you know that. I was replying to DK about the selection bug he's experiencing.
actually, I know NOTHING about why or how to any of this. so I don't even know why I'm commenting.

Agreed. I noticed that too. Sometimes I think the Gulch servers are working overtime and take awhile to update.
