Oh this is rich. A peaceful protest, drunk, and armed with what she doesn't want her constituents to have. Nice upstanding citizen, pandering to a populace looking to blame a white cop for shooting an upstanding young man, when evidence is stacking up against that theory.

On her knees in the middle of the street chanting "don't shoot" with her hands in the air. Was the gun in her turban?

No...there really wasn't sex in 1984. It was the year without sex...ANYWHERE. (Well..the deer still had it I guess.)

Hey, I like my ABC'S inventions idea. Kids aren't taught to appreciate inventions enough.....and how they better our lives, and the economy...and yes, a good thinker DOES deserve rewards for his mind's creations....they don't OWE anyone their good ideas they do it because they WANT to (freedom allows and encourages this), if it happens to benefits others then great. Ugh...stop making me type.

Jan: You just don't understand - They're "special" and the rules for the "little people" don't apply to them.

    CircuitGuy, Technocracy, khalling -

You guys are probably right, but I still have a hard time believing it. And it does score a mark against being able to use reason to understand the world. It reminds me again that while reason is the best yardstick to use, it too can fail.

    Big sigh again.

That should be a requirement for all elected positions, not just the governor. They all seem to be in somebody's pocket. Then there is the issue of competency. Sheesh. It just goes on and on.
    Peter Principle, anyone?

Common Core is seeping in some places slower than others. If accepted it will eventually remove teacher control and become UNiform. You can bet Animal Farm and 1984 won't be required reading.

"I just have a hard time believing that someone could be stupid enough to pack a gun without a carry permit, get drunk, and obstruct the law in the middle of the street and have it turn our alright for anti-gun proponency."
I suspect she has mental illness, not the kind where she believes illogical things but the kind where she's detached from reality or hears voices. It's rare, but it happens to people, including state-level elected officials.
