It's too early to tell how much damage was done. Possibly the largest storm to make landfall.

I have some family who are staying in Surigao, which is about 200 miles south of where the hurricane hit, so this was kind of a close call for me.
Luckily they just had a lot of wind and rain, and nothing more. I hate to think what could have happened if they had been in Tacloban...
