Isn't this called obstruction? I'd appreciate a legal ace to weigh in here, but this seems to me to be a fairly blatant way to get held in contempt of court...

khalling, I look forward to that happening, the "heads roll" part of your post. And, I agree with you, that the freshman repubs are going to prove to be difficult to deal with for the rinos.

No one will prosecute them so long as the president and Attorney General are Democrats. So we'll need to prosecute this (and other examples of corruption) after January 2017. Let's let our Republican lawmakers know this -- don't let them forget it and move on.

The Lerner e-mails will never be discovered, at least not until Obama has been unseated from power.

Only those who obey the law, will answer to the law. Perhaps after the first of the year pressure might be able to be put on the IRS. But don't try holding your breath until they comply.

I certainly would agree with that solution. I was simply looking for a more near-term move that focuses singularly on getting IRS movement on the Lerner emails...

When the Attorney general (chief law enforcer with jurisdiction) is conducting a purposely unending investigation the story and facts will be whitewashed before anything is done. He will order the search for the e-mails on his schedule... never... It is a farce. "I can't comment on an ongoing investigation." All documents that ARE released will be heavily redacted. Those not released... executive privilege will be invoked. Of course, if you fail to keep your documents and produce them for the IRS you can be fined and/or imprisoned and it will be post-haste.

Amen. The only reason you need an IRS is because politicians have intentionally made the tax code so complicated it requires a CPA to keep track of things.

This will stay buried until after Obama is done. Then if there is a non-Dem President, it will resurface this the Iran Contra Scandal.

It is very important to make these stands. To hold people in contempt. To continue challenging their actions in court. Otherwise you are supporting a culture of corruption. Where I live, wiggys, the people have done that for hundreds of years. It's so bad that regular people begin to act the same way. A disaster happens and there's wide spread looting, for example. Our elected officials do it and so...I fully expect now that the House and Senate are Republican, were are going to see some heads roll in some of these scandals. I expect this second wave of freshmen republicans aren't going to be meek either.

The problem is that all of the Judge Narragansetts have already shrugged. Today's judges are getting appointed by the same anti-constitutionalists that run the IRS.

does any body think that the irs would ever comply with the court order. government employees at ALL levels will do what ever is necessary to protect other government employees in virtually every situation other than a shooter. unfortunately one should go on with life and put this behind. you see the court is made up of government employees so what more do you need to know.

The new Congress should reduce the IRS budget by 40% until the Lerner emails are produced... Money is the only thing these corrupt fools will respond to...

Judicial order? Oh, you mean those minions from over there at the Judicial Branch? Don't they know that those under authority of the Executive branch can ignore those lesser people over *there*...

The problem is expecting criminals to follow a judge's order to produce incriminating evidence.
    Fire them all for cause.
