Executive Suite
Executive Suite, with William Holden, is on TCM right now.
It's another story, IMO, with Randian themes.
The "one man" of a "one man company" dies, Avery Bullard, head of the Treadway furniture company. The story is about the struggle to replace him. And in the process they debate the direction of business.
This was made in 1954, between The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged, I believe.
SPOILER ALERT:
The climactic scene:

- 1Posted by khalling 11 years, 5 months agoI do think a regulatory and corporate crony environment means a worker more often than not feels babysat which eventually leads to undervaluing the company's human capital. Excellent movie. Haven't watched it in years. those are SOME actors!Permalink|
